How dare you insult my newly designed grill by comparing it to Bangle's.

Hate to get this off line but please tell me you did not place your seat belt mounts on the seat frame.

I used duct tape to hold them on.

Use racers tape, it's better and comes in cool colors.

And.... what he said^^^^^^. In the pix it looks like your lap belts are mounted above the sliders and on the seat mount. If so you need to rethink them to the rockers, center tunnel or floor with reinforcment.

Belts are mounted to the factory belt mount points on the Porsche GT3 seats, using BK clip-in mounts. Same place my three point belts were mounted. This is a combination street/DE car, and the harness system is meant to be an incremental improvement over factory three-point belts, not an ultimate safety system. If I wanted the latter, I'd have a welded in cage, with everything possible connected to the frame, and a HANS device to go along with it. (I may add HANS next anyway) I plan on returning this car to stock condition and getting a dedicated track car in the future. If the seat breaks loose, I'm screwed, but probably less so than I would have been if I had a three point system.

I tied my harnesses in with twine. I didn't want to leave any tape residue. Plus I spent all my money putting a system in with 12" subs and twin 1000 watt amps. No money left for hardware. It's extra strong packaging twine though....

Just make sure you use locktite on the screws holding in the subwoofers. You don't want those bad boyz to vibrate loose.

Ever since I overcame Anorexia, I have found that I don't need any belts....I just wedge myself TIGHTLY into the deep seats. I'm not going anywhere with that set-up.

Bull........who left his clutch at the end of the back straight at Watkins Glen yesterday.......

I suppose that's better than leaving your brakes there?

Ha! This thread has been very entertaining. We had a guy kill his transmission this past weekend at Reno-Fernley Raceway. I guess that's what 300 hp and boost will do to a Miata.

Actually, when using the inner loop (aka Bus Stop) there is an escape route straight ahead at the end of the back straight. I usually go to 5th gear at the top of the esses (assuming I survive them), but the last run of Monday, while chasing Pete Temper and another slacker, my car said "not this time bozo". I got it into 5th, hauled down the back straight, and it then said "fine, I'm staying here in 5th". NOT the quick way through the inner loop and the remainder of the track. I managed to get it into 3rd and get back to the paddock.

It was a fun event, with a lot of Club Racers tuning up for the PCA Club Race this Fri-Sun.
