"Drover" is synonymous with dumb *** in a racing suit. That would be Frank Lin of course, aka, Ghettoracer (or as VR says, Gerbil Raper).

WHAT mooty?!? Lol. As a mod for this (and other) Rennlist forums, I reserve the right to delete it. Why? Because you-know-who would get too big a kick thinking that we were talking about him/her/it/whatever. Just tell me when . . .

Anybody know when GR joined RL?
I think Drover/Droving predates him. It was an established term when I joined in 2004.
John D, Mark (Sunday Driver), BT (Mike in Chi), Jimbobjumpback (sure miss your posts ) are likely to remember when the term was coined.

I thought "drover" came from a GR typo in the original post of "letter" thread. I see it in enough places that it could be older than that and or from other starting points.

Kurt . . . I thought the same thing. When I spin or go off the track I call myself a drover . . . the rest of the time I call myself a driver.

It actually pre-dates any real GR involvement with Rennlist.
GR had developed the reputation of asking students (and instructors) to drive their cars. He was the subject of much discussion and disagreement on this topic, on the PDC mailing list. In one of his many rambling posts where he ineffectively tried to justify his behavior, he talked about asking students to "drove" their cars. That stuck with him and his attempt to make the world conform to his reality with the infamous Open Letter, which he sent to PDC, posted here and posted elsewhere, as I recall.
From that point on, "Can I drove your car?" got much wider press and it was set into history.
