I'm kinda partial to Bull's suggestion
Dr. Pain
Works on many levels, literally and figuratively.
But that presupposes he's in... Are we ready to make that call?

Where's the funny? Bull's digging looks like the postings of a goal driven ringer to me but I am just an FNG. farting new guy
How about "Dr. Giggles" should he make it?

Digging deeply:
"How about finally (since you couldn't do it a few events before) keeping up with the guys on R-compound in your group when you are still on streets? Would that qualify as a personal driving improvement?"
This from a well known instructor and member of HWFMR:
"So what about the famous BostonDMD? In a word it was great. His car is very nicely sorted. Either he has natural talent or, someone did a great job teaching him before this event, maybe both.
Tremblant takes longer to learn than say, The Glen or Mosport. there are more corners after all. The esses were a challenge if only that they force the driver to be patient.
On the other hand, he did not attempt to overdrive the slow corners while pussyfooting in the fast ones. Smooth inputs kept the car in balance allowing us to carry lots of momentum in the high speed corners. Very unusual for someone without a lot of seat time.
In the instructed group, he lapped (I did say lapped as opposed to passed) the entire field saving one car. Better you hear it from me than him right?"
Oh what tangled web webs we weave!

Bull,
my esteemed instructor was just being nice as not to hurt my feelings, I am sure all instructors say such things to their students after their session......
As far as the other partecipants that I lapped, well he didn't tell you that they were all blindfolded..... Yes, it was a special session where the partecipants learn to drive exclusively "by the seat of their pants"............

Yup . . . I still like Team Drill Sergeant. I think it fits, and it includes pain if you're familiar with boot camp.

It just doesn't work here. Can you imagine anyone trying to get the members of this team to perform any kind of close order drills????? Such a title would suggest that to be possible.

Lol, you have a very good point, Bob. However, rather than close order drills, I was thinking more along the lines of martini drills.

Bull/Bob - As a fellow team member I will not lie. My quote was accurate. Not only does the unworthy applicant go fast, he wants to go faster. Perhaps we could consider a stipulation that he runs only on Blizzaks? On the other hand he did miss nearly every apex at first, so he may be salvaged with some proper indoctrination.
He is going to Calabogie in a few days and I have volunteered (it is near the end of the season and I have a few "Depends" left over) to show him around the 22 odd corners. Since one third are blind I can assure you he will miss the apex - again and again. Unless he spins (see reference to Depends).
Please consider my nomination of him as "Director of Instructor Intimidation"

I'm not real fond of the team having a Drill Sargent. That implies some form of organization, which is something I personally despise.
I suppose though with this group of people, being a Drill Sargent could be a form of punishment for the person holding the title. Kind of like Sisiphus rolling the rock up hill? That would be a just punishment for actually being fast, wouldn't it?
