I think we need a full 500 word essay on "The Art of Slowness..."

CWay27's input has injected enough uncertainty, that I cannot ignore the risk of a ringer infiltrating the ranks.

But then again I am not on the membership committee..so what the hell do I know.

In todays society "No" means "Yes", therefore "I am fast" means, you got it, " I am slow".......

Thanks Carl, and I thought you were my friend.
Don't forget I still have you on video at LCMT as you left this slow poke behind....
Ha Ha! good one but don't push your luck.

Who is faster, a white RSA 3.6 with R compounds or a 87 track car with 3.2L and street tires?? Guess again, the good doctor was on my tail all day long.

BTW A friend doesn't ditch a friend at an event when he's registered..... Where were you??

"The art of Slowness" :

Being a master in starting a train and being especially slow in giving point bys

To be lapped by the entire field at least twice

To change brake pads every 100 days of DE (wheter they need it or not)

how many words is that? Oh, well Dave, like you said, you are not in the committe anyway.....

Carl, that was Bob R. driving my car to show me how it could have been driven much faster that was I was capable of.....

I actually got to the track after the event was over. Man, I guess I am slow on the highways too.......

It's too early for martinis, Mike. Coffee might be more appropriate.

BTW, Dr Pain is a great team function, but we must see how the application process proceeds.
Of course, the historical review of Dr. Pain has already begun. It seems it will take a while (but what's the hurry?) given the name changes we are running into. It does appear that under another name he had an Uncle who's name escapes me right now....Juan Manuel something or other......

CWay27, we "consider" all apps., just in case there is something in there for our personal gain. It is true that anyone who begins a thread "Four wheel drifting" is very suspect, but not because I suspect any speed is involved. Rather, it makes me wonder if GR has another RL name!

Oops . . . Kurt M, DaveM . . . close! Lol. Now I get what Mike meant about those martinis. In the true HWFMR tradition, it took me a while to remember.

Bull,

On some other threads of RL you might come to the conclusion that I want to "learn" fast, but that does not mean necessarily that I am fast, actually quite the opposite......

The only thing I have in common with my "uncle" Fangio is that we both started later in life, unfortunately the "fast" genes were not passed on to me......

Dr. Pain...... the name is growing on me.....

Further from the Background Reports:

Recently found posted by Dr. Pain on a well known Racing Forum:

"Got promoted to White (even though on streets) with high honors, but run in Yellow Solo since the White run group was way full....

I got to practice different lines, throttle steer, trailbraking, throwing the car into the corners, inducing drifting and sliding, practicing correcting and catching the car, overall, I truly had a ball......

I have taken good video and also used a G2X data logger(volunteered by a fellow Rennlister) to check my consistency and different lines and their respective times.....

I know I am a newby, but I am catching on quick, real quick......(or so the instructors on site tell me)

With R-compound tires they say I should be able to shave at least 2 seconds, that would make my times at LRP very respectable...."

Do I smell the smoking gun?????
