Yeah, Dave, it sure was a surprise to me. What, someone asks questions about the condition of the car, and that makes me a car abuser? That's odd.

Larry -- yeah, right! It really sounds to me that this guy doesn't want anyone with any type of experience driving their cars. In one way I can understand it, but I personally would not let a novice drive my car. I've only let a couple of people drive my car ever -- one was an advanced driver, the other a racer. They didn't hurt the car any more than expected (tire wear, likely some brake wear -- big deal). And they use Falken Zieks?!? I had those on my street car for a while. Their treadwear rating is 410!!!

So I guess he was right -- his cars are not for me. I mean, I have no intention of pushing anyone's car but my own, but I guess he'd get upset if I so much as had a little tire squeel. This makes me think they have stocker brakes, too. I'd be coming into the hot pits after every lap to cool them down! Oh, well. I contacted some guy near Houston that owns a race shop -- maybe he can offer me something.

Sounds like a place that expects to rent to those who don't have a proper car for the track and want to "give this track thing a try" before they get their own car. Not quite what you are after.

Honestly, I don't feel safe in one of his cars by the way he described them. I don't plan to tear anything up, but I do want to have that confidence around me knowing I will be safe. I knew $350 for a whole weekend was too good to be true.

They claim that they are 'street tuned', whatever that means. While I'll admit it's not a lot of money to rent them, I feel that rental track cars are a lot like diamonds -- you get what you pay for. My racecar is by no means fast compared to say, a Cayman or a 997, but from the sounds of it, my car would blow those cars out of the water. I would never rent a car in that condition to anyone.
