The coolest 510 setup I've seen was Mike Bibinoff's "RX510" -- a blown RX-7 engine in a 510. He had to move the firewall back about a foot or so to accomodate. That thing SCREAMS.

Especially with a turbo. Mike is an outstanding autocrosser. He grunts a lot, though, and talks to his car. It almost made me laugh.

I don't know the first thing about 'chi', but my baby certainly treats me very well. Zippy (yes, I name my cars) has been nothing short of a blessing! Believe me, I am very good to my car. She's getting a full brake system make-over on Monday (it's been raining, so I have to hold off until Ihave time). She's getting:
New brake master cylinder
New rotors
New race pads
New calipers
New race harnesses (race required -- FIA belts just expired)
New SS brake lines
Full brake bleed (obviously)
Change oil, tranny and gear box fluid
She's going to be great next weekend at the races!!! Can you tell I'm just a *little* but excited?

ahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahhhhaaaa
minors obviously make you an expert in the datsun/honduh world.
Are you kidding me? You are talking about the minors someone has in engineering and how that relates to knowing stuff about cars.

I've only let two people 'drove' my car, Frank . . . one is my brake sponsor, Eddie Nakato of Adrenaline Racing (because I know he'll fix anything he breaks), and the other is long-time friend Marc Merlin, whom I threaten to steal his Ferrari if he wrecks my SM. If Zippy were able to talk, I'm pretty sure she'd be upset that I even let those two nuts behind her wheel, let alone letting you, someone I barely know, drive it. Sorry, Charlie. No Zippy for you. For about $12k, you can always build your own SM, ya know. Good, cheap fun!

$12k ought to buy a competitive car. You can build one for like $7-8k for parts only. The only thing I can't do is a good cage. TC Design charges what, $1300 ish??

No, a competitive car is more around $20k+. If you are like me, and you do all your own work, a car worth $12k can be built for more like the price you quoted. Yes, Tony is proud of his custom cages -- but they are closer to $2k last time I checked. My pal Mike at Rebello referred me to Ricky Freeman who charges less, but does just as good of a job (I've seen a couple of his jobs). If I ever get a custom cage built, I'll go to him instead. I have a bolt-in cage instead. With the help of a friend and a porta-power, I put my own cage in. You can get an Autopower for about $800. If you want to add NASCAR bars or central bracing, of course that would cost more.
If you have questions about building a Spec Miata, just ask -- I built my own car. The only thing I didn't do was the differential rebuild (take your old pumpkin and install the MazdaSpeed lsd guts).

You do not know a damn thing about the people here, their backgrounds nor their education & professional history. Just keep spewing your ignorant racist BS. The members of this place have a great deal of expertise, but GhettoRacist is too busy calling everyone names to understand that.
