I kinda figured that, but posted my "better to be safe than sorry" type of post anyway. I cannot count how many times I've preached the old, "It's not the car, it's the driver" speach to my students and in download sessions.

I have a question . . . why would somebody try to drift a 996 TT in the first place? My first reaction to that is that a 996 is not drift material. I'd be thinking something FWD with an open diff . . .but I'm not a drifter, just a random observer (when they happen to be at the track the same day as I am, I usually see them off in the paddock somewhere).

American Touge series is about the "drivability" or a better description is the balance of a car over all (power, handling, braking) for a little Sunday canyon carving (touge means mountain driving). It isn't about drifting... perhaps you are confused by Tsuchiya's nick name DriftKing. The ratings are purely subjective based on the pro driver's ranking of a car. del Sol achieve score of 95 from DriftKing. 996TT scored 94. 996TT is still way faster than the del Sol of course (but maybe not much faster in spirited mountain driving)...
