I have to agree with Nathan in his first sentence, first paragraph. As you all know, I organize open track events / schools quite often. We get an average of ten Porsches, ranging from good ol' 944s to GT3s and 968s. Once in a while we'll get a Honda or two . . . usually a Prelude that belongs to one of our instructors, and an S2000 or two. There are times when the only Honda at our events is that one instructor, as a matter of fact. I'm not siding with anyone, just presenting facts, at least at our events. The same statistic is typically witnessed for Track Masters, as well (it helps that Frederick Rauch is part of their group). Another local group, Unlimited Laps, gets a good sprinkling of Porsches, as well, but rarely Hondas. They were started by a couple of Volkswagen R32 owners, though, so they get a lot of VWs out there.
So no, Frank, from my experience, I couldn't back you that Hondas are more common at track days than Porsches. The little cars from Stutgardt got you Honda guys beat there. Then again, perhaps you are running with a group that I do not hang out with?

I was just chatting with another P-car owner and I think that GR is onto something. I own a Honda and I wrench on my P-cars (911 and Boxster) and my 91 Honda Civic. Before I owned a Honda I almost never worked on my Porsche (356 Carrera Speedster). When I talked to him he said that he owned a Civic before and even though he doesn't own a Honda anymore, he works on his P-car. He never worked on a Porsche before he owned the Honda. We are having a particularly difficult time training a new 964 owner how to maintain his car and suspect this is because he has never owned a Honda before.

One major reason cars gotten really heavy is the focus on safety. It also has influenced styling of the car tremendously (notice how all the car's waist line is getting higher and higher... this is for crash protection.
I can name more but these ought to give you some clues. Do the research if you want to learn more... of which I doubt because you are still full of bull**** only.

Very few have little almost useless 2.5 pound chrome fire extinguishers on the right side A pillar as well. Blinging out slammed street cars with BS chrome wheels, sewer pipe cat back tail pipes and stupid bolt to the trunk wings is a status thing as it is all for looks. I see people putting real performance in cars all day long. Both in the car and the nut that holds the wheel. Porsche DE events sell out around my area all the time. None of the other makes DE events do. They also use Porsche Club Instructors/ for a bunch of rich guys they seem to have time to learn and practice the craft of drIving. Where are Honda's Club Race events held? When and where is Honda cup?
What stat do you want to try next? Porsche owners wives and or girlfriends are less likely to own more than three pairs of black PVC thong panties and a pair of clear plastic stripper shoes? Oops, sorry, is the girl thing still a touchy subject?
Drop the stereotype attempt, you don't have the weight to make it stick.

At a POC/PCA event, would it be safe to say majority of the cars running are NOT the latest and greatest. Granted there will also be some rich folks with the new cars. But majority are older cars. Porsche was design as a sports car from the get go. That's why anybody who owns a Porsche in the older days LOVES sports cars. Of course they tend to wrench and want to learn to drive it properly. But lately Porsche is beyond pure sports car, it has also be come status symbol. Thus lot of late model owners are not as enthusiasts... or not as hard core. For example, GT2 has no PSM. It is very pure. regluar TT is made for the masses... it's easy to drive, has tons of grip, and it under steers a bit when driven hard... quite un-Porsche like IMO. But it makes it easy to sell these cars. GT3 street cars remains pure as well... and often performs as well, if not better than 996TT at the track. It is too hardcore for the general public.

I like Japan's system a lot more. It is capitalism but with many elements of socialism...

Hey Dung Pile, when the Japanese first brought their car to the US, they were losers because the open spaces and super-highways tore up the little engines....which every Japanese manufacturer admitted in the '70s and retooled so that they could build cars that could be used in THIS BIG, WIDE OPEN COUNTRY.....you ignorant pile of DUNG! Oh, and BTW, if you had a car to drive while you are over in Japan being a House Boy for your latest keeper, you would notice that Japan has one of the highest costs of fuel in the World, and some of the most oppressive taxes on cars and engine displacement!
You are in a country (remember the BIG loss they had????) that has no natural resources, where people would own larger cars, with larger displacement engines, if they could afford them and had a place to drive them.
I have spent a LOT of time in Osaka, Tokyo, and Hiroshima, with trips to Tsuzengi and Nagano, so PLEASE get off your STUPID Japan posts!
You are the poster boy for IGNORANT, Dung Whisperer.

Sorry, Frank . . . this is my first ever truly offensive post. F**k you. Go HOME. I, like you, have a LOT of pride in my country, and have lost relatives that defended it. I am no longer going to even attempt to defend you. You are a vitupritive ***. You have just pissed me off personally. Have you ever served even your own country? Some of us have. I find you to be guilty of treason at this point. Sorry folks, but even I have my breaking point. I don't appreciate defending folks like this. GO HOME GR. Leave us idiot Americans to oursevles and just get the bloody heck out.
Sorry . . .

PS -- the only one I see stereotyping here on this forum is YOU Frank Lin. I don't kiss butt . . I tell the truth. Porsche folks are among the nicest and most honest folks I have come across -- especially on race days. Your opinion is deafenting. Maybe it's just htat you can't get along well with others? I mean, really. I am one of the easiest folks to get along with, and now you've pissed even me off. I hope to not see you at the races anytime soon. I now have a predjuciced (basec on YOUR posts) of you. This is not a good thing. Sorry to say it, but I no longer hold you in respect. Insult my country, instult me and my family. Can you say TOAST???
