I got to spend some time with Booker Noe before he died. What a character.
He wore old T-shirts with torn off sleeves. He'd go into a rack house (the best aroma in the world) have a barrel popped open, and dunk his entire arm into the barrel. Then pull it out and run his arm down the entire length, and say "Mmmm, good to the bottom" (I think he did it to guage the visitor's reaction. I must have passed the test)
