Shark Werks Air Filter Removal Tool
Hi guys,
We had our GT4 just a few weeks before we first pulled the air filters out and replaced them with BMCs. At the time, we were really surprised at how difficult it was to change the filters. The hardest part is when it's time to squeeze the two clips together and pull the filter out with the o-ring that holds the filter housing in place. It's painful to hold them (the loops cut into your fingers) and very difficult to yank them out at the same time with no handle. And since the air filters on 981s (and the GT4 especially with the big air inlet scoops) get very dirty (so they're often being changed or shaken clean), we designed a little tool for removing them that we used to install BMC filters or replace the originals.
The tool made our lives easier, saving our knuckles and fingers, so we made a small batch of them for sale to DIY / mechanic / service shop types. You can buy the tool here:

Nice idea....Tell me about it!!!! You really have to pull them hard.
IMO I think these filters need cleaning every 5-6K miles...no BS.
I have to sets of BMC and one is always ready to pop in so I can do the cleaning later.
I may grab one of your tools later.....

We have 3 more available still. We have quite a few tools still available for standalone sales and will still offer a bundle discount with filters once these 10 are sold.
Yes it does, correct.

Received my tool in the mail today. I have not used it yet, but it really is nicely made. I expect that it will work great, but even if it doesn't turn out to work as expected or don't need it, it sure is nice to look at. You just don't see tools like this at Sears.

I believe it! We've changed some at 2k and they were quite dirty.
Cheers and thanks for that! It's a simple tool, but we opted to use a heavier gauge stainless steel so it would last forever and since it's a small batch like all of our products, we made it here in California with US stainless steel
Glad to hear that! Now I need to write up some instructions :P
Thanks and glad to help
