GT4 Transmission Failure "Database"
Per 4carl's suggestion in the GT4 database thread, I've decided to set up a new "database" to give us a better way of tracking these failures.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing
Feel free to either PM me or post in this thread with the following info:
Username - so we know who is who...can keep this private and off of the spreadsheet if preferred, if not a Rennlist member, use initial and geographic location
Date of manufacture - info can be found on data plate on the driver's door jamb, month/year. Can also get exact day/month/year from the certificate of authenticity if you have it.
Total miles
Number of track days
Estimated track miles
The failed gear - who knows if anything other than 3rd will go
Brief recount of the failure - a quick sentence so we know what was going on when it occurred
Tires - thinking more stock dunlop's/michelin's vs. trofeo r's, hoosier's, etc...
Other relevant info - Ie. modifications, etc.., if not a GT4 describe your car (Spyder, Cayman S, etc...)
Let me know if anyone has any suggestions as to what other data points we should be tracking/if I should remove any of the others.

Race Car
Thanks i think it will be helpful to identify if its a specif run of cars. The real value is to make sure Porsche covers owners that have the problem by showing there is a common defect. I would have developed the data base it except for my complete lack of knowledge on how to do it.
i remember when i had a 996GT3 they had some cars that had bad retainers on the valve springs. Porsche traced it down and did a recall on about 20 VIN's with the bad parts out of all the GT3's. carl
