% over MSRP/sticker did you pay with or without allocation?
Hello-
I am new to the Porsche eco-system. I've [had] been reading all about the 997 and 991 GT cars, and now looking at the GT4, consuming this thread.
I know this is a taboo subject and the likely answer is "do not do that" - but I'm not a Porsche owner, I only know one Porsche owner [997.1 GT3] and I don't have a dealer relationships that I can believe in enough. I don't know any owners of the GT4, to get real input. That leads me to you, dear, hopefully patient with me, Rennlister.
I really like this 204 miles GT4 from Porsche Beverly Hills.

If I [had the opportunity to] order one, it might look just like it other than paint, as I would prefer white.
The sticker price was $120,355.00. Heavily optioned, obviously. They want $139,888. I don't know how negotiable. Probably not much? That's almost $20k over sticker or 116%.
Something tells me that's a premium price ... that they will probably get. I'd prefer to hear from actual owners of the 2016 GT4.
Did you have an allocation? Did you pay for the privilege? If you did not, are their special circumstances (aka: I've been buying Porsche from my dealer for N years). Did you buy off the showroom floor? Did you pay over MSRP?

I got a out of state allocation at msrp. No previous relationship with dealership. This was my first new Porsche purchase. Placed deposit in May of 2015, notified about allocation in December of 2015. Car built in January 2016, delivered to my driveway early March All of this was made possible because of fellow Rennlister orclean. He got the ball started by giving me the lead to a dealership that would take a deposit from an out of state buyer.

Thank you for that story. I feel a bit bad, since 10 seconds after posting I found a thread about GT4 used pricing.
This is not a CPO car. He wants $3500 to CPO it (!). Extends 100,000 extra miles. Not sure how I feel about that. I barely put 10,000 miles on a daily driver in 3 years. I can't imagine I'll put miles on a weekend warrior car.
I'm not bargain shopping here - but I care about value. I'll pay for value, but I'm too inexperienced in the Porsche economy to know.

I walked into my dealer in April and in May he had an allocation for me, freely configurable, at list price. Got the car in late August and already put 1000 miles on. Would never pay more than list price for a modern car.

Sven's experience is NOT the norm. A few have been able to get MSRP but most pay over. Every dealer will say they can get 20k over because maybe in the very beginning they could. When I was shopping a few months ago 20k over was quoted and when I pointed out thats wasnt the current market and could show them they stood fast and said it will sell... ha ha .... no more than 2-3 weeks later it dropped 10k , and then still was on the market more than a month later and finally sold but probably less than that. Check Cargurus , ebay etc. and get a sense of how many are available with the options you want. These are not flying off the shelves and deals are available.

In California things are crazy, especially in the LA area. I was able to get MSRP at a dealer in LA, but also got on that dealer's radar about the GT4 about a year before the car was released. Someone like Sven is in Germany...different market.
No experience with Porsche of BH, but my guess is that if you want a more reasonably priced GT4, they are not the place to shop. Certain dealers in LA hold out for $20k+ over MSRP because often times someone will eventually pay it.
I would not pay $140k for a GT4 personally. That is nearly GT3 money.

Thank you for the stories. It helps me a lot contextualize the decision making process.
I'm going to go look at this car in an hour. I'm still pouring through the GT4 registry, but I don't see many this heavily optioned with LWBS and none (currently for sale) with both the PCCB and LWB seats. I could do without those Air Vent Slats in Leather for $1,200.

I'm painfully aware of this. Been obsessing over that exact point, really. I am driving a GT3 later this evening. A 2014 that was caught up in the engine replacement.
Something about the mid-engine cars hits me in a soft spot. Don't know why. I was studying Lotus for a long time.
I also want a manual, which I can't get with the GT3 and when and if you can, it won't be free.
I really wish that Porsche Driving Experience in LA would open.

Being from the midwest and a smaller town, I received the allocation from the local dealer and built a heavily optioned GT4 which I paid MSRP. About $114k total. Absolutely love the car! It is my daily driver and track time fun. I plan on keeping it entirely stock which allows me to keep this amazing street/track balance that I covet. Personally I would not have paid over MSRP, but living in the midwest that is probably an easier proposition than on the west coast. Good luck with your decision!

Buy that high option over MSRP car be prepared to flush 50k down the toilet.
What's intended use? Street? Track?
There are several for sale here on RL. Do that.

McKenna has a yellow one... If i remember right it didn't have buckets but has been there for awhile... Perhaps they would be willing to negotiate.
