I think it will sell well. It just likely won't sell to anyone that already has a 981.

Agreed. It doesn't appear to be any sort of significant upgrade over the previous model.... Disappointing. Porsche could have really slammed it out of the park by building on the previous car and eliminating the flaws.

Very well said; the things we would have like to see addressed were not. I am a bit disappointed overall tbh.

[QUOTE]Hard Pass for a current owner.[QUOTE]

34 payments left on my 981 then some of the cooler updates (single clutch, 2 part rotors, etc.)

And let's not forget the price. I expect that a decently equipped 718 GT4 will sticker for around $120K. IMO that's a lot of money to pay for a high performance Cayman. No doubt that dealers will initially ask for an ADM, but I don't see that lasting for too long.

This is a cash grab, pure and simple.

Porsche miscalculated on the first GT4 and 981 profits went to dealers not corporate.
Now corporate thinks they're fine to be sitting on their laurels and flubs.
I don't know anyone looking at the 781 GT4 price point yet and saying "I gotta have that" and I would expect ADM would not be present on this model

Porsche need to open up PTS and get some excitement into this because I don't see it. The spyder is the exciting one

Price increase vs actual upgrades compared to the outgoing 981: no thanks.

Is it true the new car weights over 200lbs more than the 981 version? If so even more no thanks.

Why do you think the Spyder is the more exciting one of the two? Same drivetrain, similar suspension components, similar weight... Won't it pretty much be the same car in a vert?

Because it’s new for the Spyder... I predicted this over a year ago. More change to the Spyder gaining all the GT parts that it didn’t have on the 981... plus it’s cheaper than the GT4 for some reason. So the Spyder will dramatically feel different than the 981 (for better or worse). Where the GT4 is a more minor update as it already had the GT suspension, brakes and wheels.

I think he is talking about there being a bigger change between the previous Spyder to this one vs a much smaller change between the previous GT4 to the new GT4. Perhaps making the new Spyder a more attractive upgrade to someone who owned the previous Spyder.

Agreed. That makes sense. Although with only a little more power and no more torque and the same gearing, seems like it should feel pretty much like the same car.
