Urgent help with GT4 purchase
Hello again guys
So I "purchased" a CPO GT4 with 9K miles. The car was briefly listed here on Rennlist. The dealer asked me to sign "paperwork" and return it. This included Carfax report and CPO report.
Included in the paperwork. A "vehicle summary list" was included which shows a "a customer complaint about gear grinding between first and second gears" when car had about 3000 miles. It looks like a there is a repair price of 15K next to it.
This leads me to believe that the transmission was replaced!!!
Im disappointed this was not disclosed by the Rennlist member or the dealer!!!!
Is this a deal breaker??
Please advise

What was the production date? If it was early 2016, then consider it a big plus. Based on the data, it’s a matter of when, not if, you’d need to replace the transmission due to 3rd gear failure.

A new transmission isn’t devaluing the car one cent, it probably raised it.

that’s a mistake, trusting a dealership. I would’ve got a PPI. However, not sure they would’ve caught a new transmission.

If it was replaced early and under warranty who cares?

I would have at least asked for a DMI report to see if there were any over-revs on the engine.
If anything, your car might be worth more with the new tranny.
The fact that it is CPO, definitely helps.
Stop worrying and enjoy your car!

+1... Cars are depreciating assets with a few exception. Enjoy the car for what it is and don't deny yourself the pleasure over valuation. There are much better investments out there like stocks or real estate
