Default Interior leather damage
Hi guys,

While the car was sitting in the garage, my radar detector sadly fell off and ripped a bit of the leather on one of the side center console trim pieces.

What would be your suggestion to fix this (apart from living with it and buying a replacement part for $800 on Suncoast)?

Here is a picture that should give you an idea. The leather is bashed in and you can see through the dye.

Ya, i’m no help re a repair but it’s minor. I would leave it. Last drive I pick up a decent sized windshield chip...oh well...

You too? High five! I always take good care of them but life happens and it doesn't bother me at all as they get some scuffs. When I go to sell one I take it to my watchmaker, he buffs out the worst of them, and onto eBay they go, looking as good as they can. But I don't worry about it while I own them.

There are probably some interior pros in your area that can fix that no prob. Generally they go from dealer to dealer reconditioning cars before they are put on the lot for sale. Ask your local dealer who they recommend. Should be inexpensive to fix.

Problem with leather pieces is that they can get damaged more easily. I agree $800 is expensive. Have you tried Exclusive Options and see what their price is. If it bothers you that much it might be worth the price.

It looks like a couple of dents. An upholstery iron or hair dryer may tighten it back up. If truely leather, follow up with cleaner and conditioner,

Hi guys,

Here is an update. I took my car to the dealer so their upholster detailer/expert could try to fix it. Boy, wow!! I can’t even see where the problem was anymore!!!!

Truly amazing! I saved so much money too!
