Default Would you do it?

Went to the LA auto show this morning and a big part of the display was the new 718 GTS models and how great they were etc, and a uncovering of the GT2RS. Got me thinking......Would you purchase the next GT4 if it was say a GT4RS with a turbo charged 4 banger with 450hp and PDK only??

No. That car would have more "fast" and less of other things that matter a good deal to me. While I have no problem with more fast, I don't need it. I'm fine with the fast of the 981 GT4. If you gave me more fast from, say, a 9000-rpm under-bored 3.6 version of the 4.0, or even the 4.0 itself, I'd be tickled.

But if you make me give up the NA power delivery curve and the sound in order to get more fast? Nope. I'd be trading something I love and value for something I don't need. Even on track.

Any GT4 with PDK yes.
PDK option is far more important to me than the engine in the next GT4. That being said, I would prefer N/A 6.

I think what you mean to ask is would I trade my GT4 for it.

Because if the question is merely would I want this car? Sure.

But would I trade my GT4 for it? In that case... no.

I would prefer the NA 6 - Evo has a video of new GTS and talks about how great it sounds etc. While I don't disagree, it sounds great for a turbo 4, it sounds nothing like a GT4 NA 6, add sport headers and it even better!

If I could get a pdk into my current GT4, it would be my DD for sure!

Would never buy a GT series car with anything other than a manual transmission. A sedan or SUV sure; sports car, never. Even if it is PDK-SSSSSSSSSSS

Didn't you own a 991.1 GT3 and traded it in on a GT4?

Well I have to say after spending 3 full days in a 2018 Cayman, I would in no way move from my 981 GT4 to a 718 if its TT no mater how powerful etc. The sound of the flat 4 is atrocious from idle to 5K and above that I think it only sounds decent.

The 981 GT4 sounds great. Actually, sounds more like it a V8 than a Porsche V6. I had LT Headers and a Valveless exhaust and it did sound better than my .2 GT3. The .2 is louder/differnet but the note from the GT4 was tough to beat.
