718 GT4?

The speed in gears is very similar between GT3 and GT4 (don't think 2nd goes to 88). However, the GT3 is revving at 9k and the GT4 is revving at 7800 (over 15% difference), so the difference in absolute gearing is very significant. GT3 feels much better geared...
The GT3 also goes 198 mph, so that somewhat constrains how low the gearing can be.

The complaints about tall gearing for the GT4 is well documented, I don't think we have to reopen that discussion. I do think it's subjective and depends on driving style. Here in the Bay Area it definitely leaves me wanting because you're mostly in 3rd gear in a lot of tracks at the lower rpms which don't have anywhere near peak power.

Well, not nobody.... But if you complain on the GT3 forum everyone beats you up because the adms are too high on the .2 for it to be anything but perfect.

Doesn't fit is relative. I can work at Porsche today and say the 6cyl turbo doesn't fit in the 718 chassis today. Or whenever that was stated. That's true. Does the 6cyl turbo fit in the 718 GT4? Maybe. Truth is no one knows. People forget the GT4 isn't exactly the same as the 981 GTS chassis for instance. I think the Chris harris video he explains why / where they changed the body in white.
Any one of the variables I just listed -- and no doubt a raft of others -- could sink the idea of a flat-six turbo in the 718. Perhaps everything fits just fine, the cost is acceptable, the NVH is good, the car sounds great, but under extensive testing in the Sahara the engine compartment temps rose to 4 degrees F beyond what the "Porsche Acceptable Engine Compartment Temperature" has been set at. Bingo, no-can-do. Or what if computer modeling shows that a Flat-6TT in a Boxster would only last 110,000 miles and the minimum acceptable is 115,000.
Metrics other than "won't physically fit into the space allotted" could easily be what has been causing the Flat-6TT to "not fit" in the 718. And the most likely one of those metrics is "Don't want to miss a chance to increase per-car profit on the entry level model."

Drive magazine.. "Porsche has already confirmed that the range-topping 718 Cayman will feature a naturally aspirated engine". After reading this, I looked at all the other online magazine stories showing spy photos - from November, 2017 and those spy shots recently released. 100% say either a) they know it will be a naturally aspirated engine, b) they quote a Porsche exec saying GT cars will all be naturally aspirated, or c) they infer it will be a naturally aspirated engine.
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... you get it. It is obvious to me these stories are leaked and controlled by Porsche. I see no reason why Porsche would want to disappoint their customer base. Conclusion for me. No turbo. Just the opposite - I think Porsche will surprise us on the upside with a car that will have in excess of 400hp, maybe way more.
Really the only questions for me are; a) whats the price? b) Manual Only or PDK option?, and c) what color will I order this time? I have the feeling these will all be answered in the next 30 days

It’s the same article and quotes that has been regurgitated every other week or so.
Like I said earlier, I remember reading articles stating the 981 GT4 would be A turbo car years ago.

I don't think it would be a surprise if it has more than 400 hp. I think it would be a disappointment if it didn't.
