I still think it's gonna be NA. Huge risk for Porsche to go turbo on this car at this juncture. I think they need to keep these two cars NA to keep the enthusiast demand high. A few years from now, once the customer base has become more accustomed to turbo through the standard 991.2/992's and 718's, then you maybe make the switch to turbo across the GT line. Just two pennies I pulled out of my hiney.

As much as I want it to be NA. I really doubt it. We need to realize that by the time this actually hits showroom, it will be end of next year (2018) or early 2019. Turbo cars will be running for a few years by then. Also to keep in mind is that by going turbo here they can test out how the market will actually respond to switching the GT cars to turbo. No matter what we think, the 911 will always be more important to Porsche than the Cayman, they will 'beta test' it here rather than risking it on the GT3. Also .2 GT3 will at least run thru MY2019. Doing this will buy them time. And if the response is weak, all it will do is help NA 911 sales be it .2GT3 or any other special models. If it is strong, then switching to turbo on the 992 GT3 may actually be happening soon.

That's my 2 pennies, but who know what they will actually do....

GT2 is turbo, why not the GT4? It's too early in its life to be considered tradition to keep it N/A after just 1 iteration. I would love an easily tunable turbo engine in the GT4!

I think he understands what I'm on about.

Some just can't swallow that the car was first registered in 2014.

doesn't make sense for them to stick a turbo engine from the 911 range into a gt4 when gt3's still na. otherwise you'll have slightly tuned 718 gt4's destroying 911.2 gt3's on track...

tune the flat 4 to higher hp, say 400 hp. I think even the base 991.2 370hp engine would be good enough to take on more powerful cars with its torque and chassis balance. Add a tune and you'll be making GT3 owners cry

I didn’t want to be an NA snob, but after a few days at the Masters class at Barber there is no comparison between the sound of the NA GT3RS and ALL the other cars. If the next one is turbo, I will be so sad. And I’ll call up BGB about 30 seconds later.

GT4 afterall was a beta test for manual trans would make sense it is used for FI this time round considering almost every other manufacturers have gone down that path....

CJ wasn't commenting about this car, he was making a general comment about test mules. And I'm not sure what your monitor shows, but that sticker looks clearly green on my computer and my phone.

My first thought about the spacing of the exhaust had to do with turbos, but it could also just be a function of the diffuser design. Remember that this is a big advantage of a mid-engined car potentially over a rear engined (see 911 RSR).
