Scratched plastic on Spyder where Top clicks in on back
So... I have had this happen twice now, luckily on the same side. When I am latching in one of the back flaps of the top into the slot that is surrounded by plastic and has the "spyder" on it, and had the latch slip out of the hole and scratch the black plastic... Is there a way to fix these scratches or do I need to buy a new plastic trim piece?

It's a Spyder so I'm going to ignore the Frugal and assume you want to keep the car visually perfect in which case you're going to likely end up at one of the discount Porsche parts providers like sunset. If you try to polish them it likely wont match the other side and it sounds like they are too deep to dress up with some Armor all or equivalent. Lastly they are high on the car so they get noticed more easily. If you decide to fix them you might be able to fill them with body filler, sand them, carefully tape off and spray black the damaged area.

Ok, so tried to find the part on Suncoast and Pelican, no dice. Called my local dealer Sunset Porsche, and its $141.xx. I just ordered it. F*ck. I am debating when I get it if I save it for next season as I'll be pissed if I scratch the new one. Note to self, be care and don't rush the process!!!!

timely thread. one of my clips popped out while on the highway this morning. heard this terrible banging noise as it hit the car over and over until i was able to pull over and click it back in. not fun. thankfully didn’t cause nearly as much damage as i had feared.
