Default Clearance of Bendpak MD-6XP--does the GT4 clear?

I am thinking about buying this lift. If I go just by the lift's specs and the GT4 lip measurements, the lift is 1/4 too tall to just drive over. Anyone have a MD-6XP and are you able to drive over the lift without building low profile rails/ramps? Anyone with any ideas on building rails that work well? I was thinking of just cutting 1/2 to 3/4 inch plywood rails, but I think they may slide when I drive onto the plywood. Is it easy to park over these on a daily basis? It would likely sit under my 4runner and I would pull in and out frequently. http://www.bendpak.com/car-lifts/spe...ts/md-6xp.aspx
Thanks.

Scott, just get two 2x12" boards and anchor them on the floor . That's what i have used with a rotary low rise lift for the last twenty years. carl

I have a BendPak and use 2 x 12" boards about 6' in length each. I lay them on the yellow BendPak ramps about halfway up or so. The ramps have a rigid, grippy, surface that the boards stay in place well. I have not had a board slide out when driving on or off.

i took a masonry drill and drilled a hole in the end of each board into the floor .I just use pins in the boards to locate them . That way i can just lift the end of them and slide them out of the way if i have to put the car on slip plates for alignment or scales. carl

Cut the end angles at 30 degrees or less and glue a thin, 1/8", 6x6" or larger rubber pad to the bottom at the leading edge back. After I did this I didn't have any slipping problems

Why do you ask for Landlord permission. Just do it.

Get rid of those antiquated high bay lights and go with good ol HID lights or even fluorsecent bulbs.

Thanks everyone. Looks like 2 by 12 ramps with rubber or other friction pad material if I decide to purchase.

Not pretty but it's been in three houses and two states since 1987. The boards have warped and aged over the years but then again so have I !
