I just had lunch with Alex and James after which I took their newly improved version of the GT4 on a short test drive. Having spent some time behind the wheel recently of a bone stock version, I was duly impressed with the result of the Sharkwerks achievements. The combinations of LWF, headers & cats, tune, gearing and GT3 throttle body were indeed a pleasant surprise, they really brought the car alive. I especially liked the gearing, I think for my local roads I would be spending a lot of time in third gear which now provides ample amounts of throttle response and tq to keep in a nice rhythm while enabling one to carry some impressive speed. That being said, it's still not a 3.9 but very easy to drive fast especially if they could improve on the suspension! Well done mates!

i know the car and i know the gears. they are GREAT.
just tell alex what you do to and where you drive your car.
then the right gear set will be selected for you.
no need to reinvent wheels. i simply trust the experts, matt and alex

Looking at their website, looks like they are using cargraphics sport headers. I have fabspeed but no matter, I concur wholeheartedly that sport headers and stock exhaust is THE killer app for this car. More midrange and better sound above 4K rpm with no other effects. It's truly a holy grail mod, zero regrets. I tried adding an exhaust and had to remove it.. one step too far for me.
Another addition which I can't speak highly enough of is the plenum and tb.. where before 5-7k rpm was flat, now there is continued climb.. it may not be a GT3 engine and it may not have the right gearing, but my car now feels utterly sublime. I would probably go for the lighter flywheel but not the new gears.. doesn't make sense from a cost/outcome perspective after reading pete's post on a spyder... maybe a gt4 which sees more trackwork yes?

I wonder about this in California as we have 91 octane gas.

I am running the FVD Valveless exhaust with Sport Headers and it is pure perfection. I have heard other exhausts which were too loud. This set-up is sublime

i am assuming all this engine breathing hardware must be mated with an aftermarket ecu tune to reap the benefits yes?

we will all be doing this when the oem warranty runs out...

On the exhaust side you could get away with just headers (sport w/ cats) and exhaust and no tune....drives fine and no CELs. I drove it like that for quite some time and later added a custom tune via a COBB AP.....the gains, at least on my car, were considerable and improved even more the mid and top end. For the IPD + TB you will need a Tune for sure.

I drove mine without a tune for a while with the IPD and TB. CEL came on a few times but the car adapted in a few hundred miles and it was fine since.
Added Fabspeeds race headers and COBB with Fabspeeds tune, left the stock exhaust on.
Completely transformed the power delivery, the flat spot is gone and its a totally different animal now. Light flywheel clutch combo is next along with the LSD.

Cant wait for the weekends to come to drive the thing...Absolutely Love It!!

For sure I wouldn't run/use it without a proper tune. You don't want to run with errors on there and richer than needed You'll love the LSD!

Yep you can.

Some folks do but I wouldn't... Best to have it tuned for the mods/changes. It'll have errors for too much flow etc...

Agreed. Killer app seems to be stock exhaust used in that fashion I think. We have different gear ratios so not everyone needs/wants my crazy ones hah! LWF certainly gives it more of an RS character.
