For you guys deciding between race or sport headers.....

If you are going to track it, get the race headers. I found out, much to my chagrin, that the HJS cats are not for track use and will start coming apart after 6-8 very hard track days. Ask me how I know.....actually don't, I'm a bit bummed with my CG sport headers at this point.

couldnt agree more with the above comments. Same thing happened to me with the other popular brand on here. Now catless only and never looking back!

Wow. This is so disappointing. I hope CG is honoring the warranty on them.

I have CarGraphic race (catless) headers on my track car. For those of you who are considering catless headers keep in mind that your car will not pass the smog test during your state vehicle inspection. You'll have to swap out the catless headers for ones that will pass inspection. They're also quite a bit louder than headers with cats. Finally, there are a whole lot of noxious fumes coming out of the exhaust with catless headers. They smell pretty foul.

Catless headers are the only way to go for a dedicated track car. But I wouldn't want them on a car that is driven on the street. Just my .02

Will pass if it's an OBD port test in ready state, no?
Dundon headers being built.

Hard to set readiness with no cats!
If the check is disabled and all other indicators in ready it'll fail in ca even if no cel.

Yeah, damn CA visual inspection, here in NH it's live free or die.

CG explicitly voids warranty with track use. Details details....but unless they do something to help, I'll be trying someone else's product ...basically out of spite.

What??? That's ridiculous. Not sure I would have bought their sport headers for my GT4 if I had known this. Let us know how you make out and what you end up with.

Sorry to hear. Probably a stupid question, but how does one know when cats have stopped working?

Well that ****ing blows. Are these the same cats other headers manufacturer use as well? I had straight pipes in my E46 M3 and I cannot stand the smell. Emission or not I just cannot drive a car without cats. Looks like I am going to have to hold off on getting headers.

That´s no good news...have the CG sport headers, not yet tracked since the swap.

What exactly happened to your cats and how did you realize the damage?
More noise, rattle, power loss, CEL or something else?

Peter
