Default Feeler for zero option black GT4

Hi guys,

I don't usually post but been a member for a while.

I may be moving to a place where I may not be ale to keep my GT4, and want to get a feel for what the market may be to sell.

It is a ZERO option Black GT4 with 11xx miles on it. I bought it last month from Porsche Perimeter Atlanta. I paid MSRP, but hoping to get money back that I paid for taxes and etc. I am looking for around $96,000. Again, I'm not trying to make money off of it. I will probably just trade it in and get tax credit back if there isn't any interest. PM me if anyone is interested. More pictures available to interested buyers. Thanks guys!

GLWS and sorry you'll have to move her. Asking what you paid for (MSRP + sales tax) is very reasonable in this market, dealers have generally taken GT4 trade ins at MSRP (particularly low optioned ones as market is beyond healthy for cars with an 80s price point).

Might provide additional info - first owner or? Does it include the no cost options? Clear bra, etc.?

$96k is $10k over MSRP. Taxes and etc.?

The GT4 looks great in Black...

Thanks guys. I wish I can keep her, but may have to go get a Macan to better handle the Northeast weather.

@ BryanCO.
I am a first owner and bought the car with 3 mils on it. It has ZERO options, not even extended range gas tank.

Yes I understand it is 10k above MSRP, but again I am just trying to get what I paid. I'm not trying to make money off of this. The dealer already offered me a grand above MSRP for trade in, but I know they will just mark it up and still sell it in few weeks.

No flame, but you may have some wiggle room in asking price. A lot of states allow for deduction of taxes paid, sales, property, etc. Federal allows for property tax deduction. And once you get past that threshold you can add other taxes you normally wouldn't get because you don't meet the bottom threshold; like state income taxes, etc.

a) Asking $96000
b) Cost of car: $84600 + $1050 + $6850 (8% ATL ST) = $92500
c) That leaves $3500 for TTL, etc you are asking to be reimbursed for.

The other gotcha that I see is that you claim to be from Atlanta and now your are talking about NE weather and need a Macan.

Does whatever state you really live in give you salestax credit on trade-in? Does a percentage of the TTL transfer to the new car? Does the dealer have the Macan you really want? Or does he have to get it? Discount on the Macan?

Honestly it looks more and more like buyer's remorse.

@EXMB
Thanks for pointing those out. Hopefully, I can answer those points you discussed.

Yes, I do have small wiggle room. I took a $2500 loss when I traded in my Z06 and also spent $500 on getting the windows tinted.

I am moving to Boston area and loosing my company car and therefore need a daily driver that is more suited for Boston weather. At the same time, I have a legal address in Atlanta and therefore am trying to figure out what makes sense in terms of tax credits. As far as whether my dealer has a car I like is too important as I'm not very picky.

One thing you are wrong on is having a buyer's remorse. I've been trying to figure out a way to keep the GT4 and get a daily, but haven't found a way yet.

I appreciate your reply!

Yes you did. And here you are partially describing the issues you had with that chevy.

Link

So the dealer did you a favor, paraphrased your own words here, and now you want to make up -> loss of company car = demotion? Am I understanding this correctly?

$2500-$3000 loss on the Z06 isn't bad at all.

If you can get the tax benefit on a car that you want, I would go that route. Non Porsche dealers can also take the car in on trade - just arrange with the Porsche dealer to 'buy' the car from the dealer of your choice. Just need to work the numbers to see what's the best financial decision.

No brainer - trade to the dealer.
With no LWB's it will be a hard sell for over MSRP.

Does zero options = no aircon?

If yes, RUN to take dealer offer.

On the GT4 NO AIR CON is an option so I am pretty certain he has air con.

Almost exact situation as myself except you have 9xxxx more miles. I sold at 2k miles and my car had a few options, very few though. I sold for MSRP + Xpel costs as I didn't need to recoup taxes since I "courtesy traded" the car through a dealer for my next car.

Take the dealer trade offer if you're not looking to make money or sell to someone else and courtesy trade and save them a dealer markup on a used car with 11k miles.
