Hi Folk this is my first post and I have a slight problem. I picked up my new GT4 on Thursday, and I have covered 900 miles this weekend! I wondered if anyone has come across a kind of squeaking noise from there rear suspension? It seems to be coming from the drivers side rear (RHD) on fairly smooth motorway. It almost sounds like air in the shock absorber. Have any of you guys experienced the same? Thanks in advance.
Hi Guys, Thank you all very much for your replies. I have pulled the wheel off and the shocks are as dry as a bone, and everything is nice and tight. Looks like a trip to the dealership for me.
Is the squeak loud? Can you hear it when driving on bumpy roads? I'm trying to identify if I've got the same problem as I do hear something but thought it was coming from inside the cabin, instead this post made me wonder whether I've got the same problem or not...
Its loud enough to be very annoying and as its quite high pitched, turning the radio up doesn't work. You can hear it on bumpy roads and also smooth. The slightest movement of the suspension seems to cause the squeak.
Just acquired a "new" GT4 with only 350 miles on the clock. Car is epic but mine seems to have the squeak AND the clunk. To be honest the clunk is not particularly prevalent, the squeak however is constant.
Am I right in surmising from this thread that replacement struts under warranty are in order, or is there a known tech fix at the local Porsche centre?
