I am not trying to be a smart ***, stretching your hamstrings will likely help a lot. Or at least is has for me. I am also looking to add some lumbar under the cushion, if anyone has I would appreciate some guidance
It's perfectly sized to fit between the side bolsters - dimensions are 11.8"W x 10"H x 2.3" thick at the thickest point. The color is actually a very dark blue.
For my back, it would be ideal if it was an inch thinner and I may trim a bit off if I can get a hold of a hot-wire foam cutter. For now, I alternate its position between lumbar region and below, because it's just too much lumbar support at times. I did a couple back to back 10 hour drives when I took delivery, so very glad to have had this for the trip. FWIW, I also find I'm now getting more used to the seats and need the cushion less.
Unlike the OP, my butt doesn't go numb in these buckets, but it sure did in the last generation of sofas (987, 997). FWIW, I'm 6'-2", 185lbs and have no affiliation with this Tempur-Pedic.
I just saw that Tempur-pedic has a seat cushion as well..I might try this...
Yes, I didn't mention it 'cos it's little big at 16" x 16". The butt portion of the seat is between 12.5" to 14" wide between bolsters. It would be easy to trim the cushion with scissors or utility knife though. Might be worth a shot if you can't get memory foam in bulk. FWIW, memory foam mattress toppers can be had for less than the cost of this Tempur-pedic butt cushion.
the human back is such a complex thing that all of us will have different experiences, but FWIW i've struggled with a lower back issue that also causes sciatica, so i was a little worried about the LWB
what i found is that i dont have lower back pain if i consciously push my tailbone back so that it's jammed up against the seat back. i've done 3-hour drives with no pain or numbness (albeit a little stiffness when i get out). you have to constantly adjust your posture though - i end up lifting my *** up and pushing it back every 15-20 minutes because my natural tendency is to inch it forward and start slouching

I've been using this pillow for years in various cars. It works perfectly.
Unlike rxnut it's the correct thickness for me. Please note it softens over time and and will eventually feel thinner because it will offer less support.
If you use the car on really cold mornings the pillow turns rock hard. Your body heat will soften it after a few minutes but it will feel cold and hard when subject to lower ambient temps.
EDIT: just realized the link took me to a home page. The pillow is called Tempur Pedic travel lumbar support. If you search it you'll find several outlets. It's very dark blue fabric but could easily be re-covered in alcantara.
