That's only the case if the scales are off by a fixed amount, rather than a percentage (about 1.5% in this case, which would be 45 pounds for 3,000 pound subject)..

Good point. Which means my guess is as good as any one else's regarding the accuracy of the scales. I was only using them to balance the car, and so the accuracy is relatively less important. I really don't care how much my GT4 weighs. I find it hard to believe it weighs less than those other cars listed. But we know nothing about the accuracy of those scales, either!

Mine is 1415 kg DIN (according to the registration papers), which is including:
- 90% full tank

It has nearly every option on it:
- Extended tank
- Clubsport Package
- Steel rotors
- Leather option
- LWBs
- PCM
- Sound Package
- Alarm
- Homelink
- Online Services
- Phone module
- PDLS
...

I am fully ignoring the fact that I am 100kg alone

^Think that is too light - translates to 2852 lbs empty!

Googling "DIN weight" gave me this which says http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=919364

1. Leergewicht EU ( Car with 90% fuel, 68kg driver, 7kg luggage (75kg). Latest EU definition uses only driver @ 75kg )
2. Leergewicht DIN ( Car with 90% fuel, no driver, no luggage )
So if we believe DIN weight doesn't include 68kg driver + 7kg luggage. Your car will be ~ 3017lbs empty - more in line with other weights posted here.

You are right. Mixed up the DIN and EU Standards. I think in Germany, they use DIN.

I am updating the post.

I run Shorai LiFe Polymer powersports batteries. They are far cheaper than Li Ion. I can get the baddest one they sell for around $270 and it still weighs under 5lbs. I would be pleased just making it to 2999lbs all said and done.
Which Shorai battery did you buy?

The one I'm using in my E46 M3 is the LFX36A3-BS12.

Specifications:

Weight:4.96 lbs
2.25 kg
Cold Cranking Amps:540
Polarity:[+ -]

I have not tested this in a GT4 yet so I'm not sure about fitment and if it is enough to handle the battery usage after the car is shut off (fans and whatnot). But I intend to try one in my next GT4 incoming this summer.

You'll need battery terminals for a car. I use the ones leftover from my Braille battery that finally but the dust. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005P9...FGL&ref=plSrch

Let me save you the hassle, in trying to drop weight in the Cayman R, the Li battery used, (39 LAh equiv.)
showed the Shorai/Battery Tender ones (36 LAh equiv.) are probably not what you want to run in real world conditions in a 12.5:1 9A1 with electricals/environment.

Explanation posted to the "Saved a few months on the tread mill" battery thread to not clutter this one. https://rennlist.com/forums/gt4/9070...l#post13165581

Weighed my car today at the track. 3070, almost fuel of fuel, not quite. I am guessing 13 gallons. Puts dry weight at 2990. LWB, Fire Ext, Full Leather.

A real sub 3000lb track car with warranty unicorn
Once they go out of warranty or for the current brave, a GT4 with 4.0 BGB treatment will be unbeatable.
