DIY Door Strap Change
#91
Help! I have tried to match my Miami blue seat belts with a 1” nylon web strap. I ended up getting close with the Country Brook Design “Ice Blue”. When I tried to get my wife’s take on similarities and she rolled her eyes and said, “not even close”. Does anyone have a lead on an exact match webbing for the Miami blue seat belts to match my door pulls? Thanks for the help.

carAholic, thanks for putting the DIY together. Truly one of the best mods I’ve seen.

Ah, you beat me to it! I was just going to suggest the same thing. :-)

Thanks for the lead! Unfortunately the color is matched to the paint and not the factory color belts which is the issue. The only way to be matched is either rip out a seat belt and send it to them or buy a $895 set and send it to them to match.

I'm trying to match the Miami Blue harnesses from TRS which is sold in the USA under a different name... which maybe a different color then the option belts.
*update... The first arrived. And i'm pretty sure it's as close as i'm going to get. It's slightly more green, but that could also be the UV treatment. I should have the second roll by Saturday, but I think this is it. As i remember seeing the 3 point belts and seeing more green. Passed the test so far, everyone looking inside say they match. Oh and the cost for the roll? like $10, lol.

See my post above for Miami Blue... It's as close as we'll get. Nobody sees a difference.

Thanks to this thread, I was able to swap the door straps rather easily. I purchased the straps from a company called gaphix in California They worked diligently to get a color match, utilizing the high and low tones within the fabric.

Thank you for this DIY on this!! Made the process simple (Changed black to red) and I was even able to find and fix another problem with the top - rear of both my door panels. They were both cracked (thin plastic in that area and lifting). I had to epoxy the plastic on both. The driver side was in worse shape so I am guessing it is a high grab point when getting in and out of the LWBS. Had to use the coffee bean jar on the driver's side to put more weight on the corner as the epoxy sets.
