Super helpful post, and subscribing as my red door pulls are in transit from DE (saw this post after I splurged on the original Porsche parts, though at the end of the day it was worth getting factory ones for me - it's what - 0.5% of the car's value? - I've paid more for options i have never used )

I honestly don't think about the fact the car has door-pulls rather than a handle anymore.
Anyone have a source for nylon straps? Matching silver preferably.

Incredible helpful post, should be a sticky! Thanks to you OP, took me 20 mins on one side, and below 15 mins on the other! Really appreciate the knowledge-share! Some pics of the factory red straps to go along with the belts, good match with the steelies as well

Thanks for the write up, OP I was reluctant but still decided to spend the big $$$ and get the factory replacement. Too bad my car is still at the clear bra shop. Was hoping to install these this weekend.
Looks great! Our cars have very similar spec, except I have LWB

Special Thanks to the OP!
I just switched out my Black Door Strap Assemblies with the Red ones I purchased from Suncoastparts.com ($450 + shipping).
The first one took 42 minutes and the second one took 20 minutes.
The entire project from start to finish took about an Hour & 20 Minutes.
As you will see in the photos below, I also used the Red Gaffer's Tape for a 12 O' Clock Marker. My lucky first cut (5.25/16th's wide - while placing the tape on wax paper and cutting with a scissors) worked out great...overall project time was 10-15 minutes.
And I also switched out the Amber Corners with LED Clears (this took about 10 minutes).

Is this where everyone is getting the straps from? Or is there somewhere cheaper.
