I dropped off some tires and goodies from bgb and fabspeed this afternoon, and had the opportunity to take some pics of the work in progress. It's not quite done, but I had to share how it's looking so far.
ATX Autosport in Austin is doing the install - and it looks like it came from the factory this way. These guys have OCD and the skills to make it work, they are by far the top shop in Austin, and even Texas when it comes to this stuff. They had an upholstery shop do the passenger side passthrough so that I could get 6 point belts for the passenger. I used cantrell sub-belt mounts and silver Schroth profi GT3 harnesses. My thoughts process was for the SBM painted bar to match painted interior trim, and silver belts to match the silver stitching.
I went with a cantrell bar for a few reasons. 1) it's one of the few to be positioned as an actual roll bar. 2) I believe, after looking at how the other bolt in units interface to the car body, that it has the most solid interface with strong points in the car I've seen outside of welding it into the car. 3) The harness bar is at a height that supports the correct belt angle for my size. 4) ATX has a lot of experience with Cantrell, and I trust them. If you live in Austin, this is the best setup in my opinion - but if you don't have someone you trust to do this install, since it's more invasive than the other bars out there, it might not be the right solution for you.
I should have better pics of the install once the shop gets a chance to send them to me.

You know, I don't actually know. I assumed they are the Schroth GT3 Profi belts, but they don't seem to sell them in Silver. I suspect this was a custom order to get silver, but essentially the GT3 belts in terms of anchors. ATX figured it out for me.

Nice looking install. I selected Cantrell as well, now just awaiting for it to be completed and shipped.

The bar looks great and that is a very tidy installation! Do you lose any seat travel? It looks like very little is lost.

Cannot speak for every bar but the Cantrell cross brace can be removed for servicing. There are bolts at the top and bottom so that it can come out without trouble. If you call they can send more pics as they took closer detail shots of these joints when I placed my order.

All the places the car was modified are in those pics. There were 4 holes cut in the carpet, and 4 holes cut in plastic trim. As to where exactly they are cut, ATX said it was a bit different for each of the 5 981 bars like this one they installed.
