Default Changing the Diff in a GT4

I have been talking to a race shop and some other people about putting a OS Giken LSD in my Gt4 has anybody done this? I just wanted to know how much difference and was it worth doing. Thanks

Should be a significant upgrade in quality of the hardware - my only concern (aside from warranty issues) is how it might interface with PTV and other Porsche software that is tuned to the OEM diff.

Talk to GTGears on these boards. He's THE guy when it comes to Porsche diffs and I'm sure he'd be happy to talk to you about what you want to achieve and how you use your car in order to recommend something appropriate. Diffs are not a one size fits all item, especially when you get into harder core diffs like OS Giken that will definitely change your handling characteristics but maybe not in a way that you like, especially if yours will be a dual purpose car. I have a long way to go just getting a feel for the way this car is now before I even THINK about doing things that will change its feel, but hopefully I'll have a good feel before the OEM diff is toast. At that point though I may well end up just wanting something that retains the OEM feel and simply adds longevity as opposed to something that significantly changes how the car behaves in braking zones and while powering out of corners.

Anyhow, GTGears is the guy making Guard diffs that you'll find everyone with 997 GT3s raving about around here. Have yet to see any negative comments about them, in fact.

+1000 on Matt @ Guard. I have an OEM diff rebuilt with his parts in my GT3. Will eventually get around to putting one of his diffs in my GT4...after I kill it.

if you are in Florida we can source this LSD, set it up and install it. Please call the shop and ask for Miguel.

Thanks.
