Default Build your own GT4

I looking at the new items on the Suncoast parts page, and I noticed a bunch of GT4 parts available: the entire front fascia, side intakes, rear diffuser, mirrors, emblem, wheel set, and even the ducktail. All of them were listed as retrofittable to any 981 cayman. The only thing missing that I can see is the rear wing. Once the wing becomes available we'll be seeing lots of GT4's running around ;-)

You'd probably at the very least need to retrofit the GT4's rear hatch struts too.

And I bet you'd have the most expensive GT4-lookalike out there! I think the front clip is around $7000. The GT4 only costs $10,000 more than a GTS.
BTW, the rear diffuser is fake--the openings with grilles are completely blocked. I doubt there is any aero effect compared to the standard diffuser on the S, or GTS.
And the rear wing would require a new hatch, or cutting of the original one, since it's mounted to the hatch inside the rear left and right corners of the hatch. I doubt the S or GTS hatch has the mounting holes required to install the uprights. Certainly you'd have to cut holes in the hatch...
Seems like a LOT of trouble and expense to get very marginal advantages compared to the GT4. For me, it's all the other bits that I wanted--I couldn't care less about the aero and appearance, I wanted the engine, suspension and brakes. BYW, I thought my GTS looked pretty darn fantastic...

The GTS has a clean look, while the GT4 has a racer look.

Yep. I often wish when driving around town (and especially when parking) that the wing were somehow retractable or easily stowable. I wouldn't trade the car's performance for that convenience, but in a perfect world it would be nice not to draw quite so much attention to the car when it's not wanted.

If I'm honest, I have to say that the wing brings out my inner child. I love that it's there!

Oh I do too while I'm driving, but when parking at work, I'm less thrilled about it. Maybe I just need to work with nobody other than car enthusiasts.

One of the junior people at work asked me if I added the wing aftermarket. LOL.

All things considered, I don't think the car attracts as much attention as it could, so I feel surprisingly comfortable with the wing. Before delivery I thought I would feel embarrassed constantly, but that's not the case at all.

First class faking. Cheaper to buy a C300 and get an AMG badge for $10 for those who like fake stuff.

Totally agree that it's not as bad as the photos had me fearing, I think because in real life it's obvious that the wing being so low somehow makes it less blatant and obnoxious. The RS wing in real life isn't as bad as it seems in photos either, although it's still definitely on another level (no pun intended) relative to the GT4.

What HAS surprised me a bit though is that I wasn't expecting to have parking anxiety at all, and I do have some at the moment. It's already diminishing, so perhaps it's just from having a brand new expensive car and not as much this particular car, but I hope that goes away for good. I don't want to be "that guy" worrying about his car all the time.

I had a white 2014 CS that i traded in on the GT4. I didn't necessarily want everyone at work to notice I had a new car, so I bought another white one. For the first two months I had people asking me if I'd bought a wing. Without the temporary tags I would have fooled 3/4's of the people.

^ As I understand it, Carl fooled his own wife by going from a yellow GTS to yellow GT4.

Carl, has she noticed yet???
