It's not a Spyder or GT4 but...

Here it is:

Dan said it's important to mask off the glass all around because it sticks to whatever you spray it on (see photos above).
Should be good for 6 months or longer.

It's a plug in module that restores the car to ROW standards: one touch up/down for the top and if you press the "unlock" on the remote 3 times, the top goes down if it's up and up if it's down. It's a must have IMO.

No affiliation but I'm on my third one. There was a group buy here a couple years ago when I got the first one. I think I paid $289 with shipping on eBay this time.

Actually, since the first part of the Chinese Fire Drill for lowering the top is the power latch release button on the center console, I would bet the SmartTOP would work from outside your car to release the latch without going into the car to do so. Then, you walk up to the car without having to get inside to complete the other 17 steps required to stow the top.
Of course, why bother, I guess?

The current remote works to release top without having to get into car. You just hold the unlock button down for s few seconds. Same thing on putting top up, just open the trunk with remote button. Smart already and fairly easy.

Well, as long as you don't compare the rest of the procedure to a Miata soft top, it's brilliant.

The wings on the top make the look imho and the snaps take getting used to. Miata top I'm not familiar with. I read it's really easy.
I already have grown to like the Spyder top procedure. Kinda old school and this is my first convertible.

Funny thing about the Miata - I bought it this May and traded in September. Not my best automotive "investment". I had planned on driving it at least a couple years, but my wife thought it was too small and too noisy. It was her idea to get another Boxster. Who was I to argue?
The Miata was fine in the rain but I have a Tundra for snow.

When the Miata first came out I lucked out on an allocation at a dealer in Milwaukee (worked with him at races at Road America) as the wait in Des Moines was almost a year. Flew into Milwaukee and drove it home. Put on fancy wheels etc and a couple other mods. Great fun, but got a good bonus the following spring and a white 964 at the local Porsche dealer seemed to have my name on it
Traded it on the 911 and also got "screwed" with the trade-in value...
Many years later, both my sons and I raced Spec Miata for several seasons in SCCA- also great fun.
But comparing a Miata to any Porsche is comparing apples and oranges...

The car looks amazing! You are going to have so much fun when spring arrives. Just curious, above you mentioned getting some kind of wheel treatment. Just curious what they are doing to your wheels?
Thanks and again wishing you many years and miles of enjoyment with the GTS.

And thanks! At 250 miles and hoping this terrific (for here) weather holds. I go off call tomorrow for a week after spending lots of time at work this past week. I'm hoping to get a few more drives in before I put it on the charger. So much fun to drive.

They are into Gyeon products right now. It was some spray that Dan wore a respirator to apply. I'll let you know how it holds up.
