Help With Build- Dual climate
Hey, so I have an official allocation!!! I'm going for a DD/track stripper with:
1) White
2) Satin black wheels
3) LWB's
The one extra option I am gauging thoughts on is:
4) Dual climate zone
Is it worth the extra $900? I'm trying to keep the cost down and want a much simpler, more focused driver's car, but I want a balanced machine. Thanks!

Not to me - my Jeep Wrangler does not have DCC. My 2 BMWs and 1 Porsche do, and I do not like it. Call me old fashioned or just plain old, but $900 is a waste of money as long as the air coming out of the vents is cold.

The toggle switches are a pain to use when you want to make larger adjustments on the fan and temps. It was an irritating minor challenge on long journeys trying to avoid having it too hot or too cold. So when I sold my GTS and got a "second chance" at the option, it was the first thing I checked before even the colors.

I also didn't get it. Some do seem to like it but if you are wanting a stripper, seems like an easy pass.
The leather interior ($1090) is a good value and has a fairly dramatic impact on the interior.
Oh, and congrats on the allocation.

I like the set it and forget it nature of climate control that allows you to set a temperature and then have it automatically (or optionally manually) control the fans as well rather than having a Hot/Cold dial to fiddle with all the time as the ambient climate changes. I have no need for dual zone functionality, especially in a car this size, but since there's no single zone option I sprang for it. I also don't see it affecting the stripper nature of the car since it's just a more advanced AC panel and a cabin temperature sensor. Worth USD $760? Probably not on a weekend/track car, but a) I will be DDing mine, and b) when you start asking whether Porsche options are worth the cost....

Thanks for the input and congratulations, guys! Yeah I don't need dual but I wonder about the single climate function. It's sad that even my wife's Mazda 3 has it, and this isn't standard on a Porsche.

In the end it depends on how you drive.
I am tracking my 991 GT3 today in Seattle. Pacific Raceways where it is dry (after our recent rain and windstorms) with temps beginning at 33 degrees and staying mid 40s.
Have Michelin Supersports on for past 2 weeks.
I like being able to set interior temp at 70 degrees now and adjusting the fan speed and direction of flow to what I want.
In the summer when temps are in the 70-80s I set it to 65. On track I shut it off as both windows are open all the way.
Today I may keep interior temps high with windows open due to outside cold.
Lots of layers of cotton.
Will also find out more about the 8 GT4 clubsports arriving as part of a Proformance / Cantrell team Seattle relationship purchase made available when new 911GTRs bought by Alex Job for upcoming IMSA race season.

If I don't have it on a car no biggie but if I have I do like to use it. Kind of irritating on a car this expensive
auto climate control isn't standard! Some days I'm surprised Porsche doesn't charge extras for the seats.

The only thing that makes me more angry than an $85000 car not coming with basic stuff like that, is spending close to $100,000 and not having it exactly the way I want it. It will bug you every time you get in the car.
