Wait a year or two and the deals will flow. Also early buyers will get bored and move on. The M2 is a great daily drive but the m235i gives you enough also. The point of the M is to bridge track use and I don't think it is better than a Cayman. Save the money and get a m235 unless the look and wider track really speak to you.

For me m3>m2>m4

I bought a 1M because I couldn't get the "right" GT4. I like the low production #'s compared to the upcoming 2M. In the future, if I do add a GT4 to the garage, I can't see myself letting the 1M go. What a car....

Price? I bet it's within $10-15k max of an M3/M4. If so, I'd be inclined to just get one of those...presuming I was in the market for one.

I leaning toward the Ford Fiesta ST as my next daily driver.
Test drove a few and they are a great handling, practical hatchback, economical fun car and a real treat to drive and most importantly a MANUAL transmission to go along with the GT4.

I think the F80 M3 would be a great DD companion to the GT4 (as Accel pointed out and has).

Unfortunately, my wife only allowed me to purchase one...

My sensibilities said M3, and the kid in me said the GT4.
The kid always wins in the end.

However, I doubt M2 will match most Porsche handling wise. Straight line speed is different. Good price for what you get though.

Guys that got a hold of the 1M when it first came out essentially drove it for free when they sold it.
I agree. test drove the manual M4. I found it very disconnected. The lag is so obvious as well. I do like the M2. I guess the msrp is probably 45K

MSRP is $51k. Pretty good deal.

The 1495 kg reported weight is DIN. I think that IS with fluids, but some people were saying that in real life it might be 3400-3500? I guess we'll see.

Auto rev-matching can only be disabled in DSC OFF mode? Why do they do these things?

I like the idea of this car conceptually but it's not for me.

The M4GTS is interesting to me with a ring time of 7:28, but appears to be pre-priced to include the expected markup - still trying to get one though. I've never understood the 1M personally - it embodied everything I didn't enjoy about owning/driving the E90 (weight) and the fears I had of the F80 (turbo). It was the first BMW that pobst said he hated driving (and ever since he's been bearish on the M cars). But it struck a positive cord with others given that they're still going for MSRP or greater.

Dammit Cadillac...just put an LS7 in the ATS so I can stop sulking.
