Well, my car is on the boat - 3 weeks ahead of schedule! This is my first BTO Porsche and the wait is killing me. It's taking all the self control I have (which isn't much) not to sit at a computer for the next month hitting refresh on boat location every 30 seconds.

She's stopping in PR on the way to SD. Who else has got a car on the boat?

 

Congrats! I just heard from my SA looks like my car is on the same boat as yours. My initial expected delivery was Nov 20th but it's actually a couple weeks ahead of schedule. My SA said I could get it as early as Nov 5th!

 

Mine is showing in the system as 11/6 but it could be earlier. Expected date in San Diego is 10/23!

Are you in the Bay Area or Socal?

Any one know a how long usually it takes from SD port to Norcal dealer?

 

Damn it is getting close! My friend has a BMW on the same ship that's getting dropped off at port hueneme. Looks like its stopping at port hueneme (10/21), then Long Beach (10/22), then San Diego (10/23).

Transport from SD to norcal shouldn't be more than a 2-3 days depending on how many stops the truck has to make.

Holy crap you are right! Looks like its pulling into San Diego port now. I don't think I will be able to sleep for the next few days. Looks like we will get our cars earlier than expected. Too bad I am leaving for New York tomorrow for a week! May be delivery before halloween?

 

We were lucky... the storm (or maybe something else) has caused a huge backup at Panama canal.

SA told me earlier today he thinks they'll hit FJ this week. When I get the call, I'm dropping everything. RSS goodies arrived today. Color me ready.

 

Luckily for everyone waiting on the Atlas Leader (due into San Diego on November 3rd) it made it thru the canal quickly today. it looked like it was in the mess of boats waiting to get thru on Thursday.

 

Be patient - mine hit SD went thru PDI and was ready to truck within a day - then sat 10 days waiting for a truck, as there was a shortage of trucks to move cars in late August.

Hope yours sales thru! You will not be disappointed.

 

Hit dealer yesterday

 

Well, went to the dealer today; saw the car and signed all the paperwork. PDI should be done tomorrow. Also met sunnyr who appears as excited as I am about his own car (the beautiful Carmine red that came in on the same shipment). I'll start a thread after I've driven the car a bit but my initial impressions are that this car WILDLY exceeds my expectations already in so many ways.
