not sure if i missed the thread with this info but i Just got a call from my dealership and the sales guy advised me that the wing uprights were only available in black. Good thing i already ordered them in black, just checked the configurator and it says the same thing

 

I still see silver as default selection @ Porsche/canada/configurator...

 

Black is the only OPTION, but unless something has changed very recently, silver is the default. I personally think that black should have been the default, and considering the specs of the press cars and the photos of customer cars we've seen, Porsche might think so too by now, but oh well.

 

I noticed a few days ago, in the US configurator, the black supports are selected by default and you cannot unselect it.

 

Interesting.... definitely a change from before. Maybe the take rate on the silver supports was so low that it wasn't cost-effective for Porsche to even offer it anymore? I can't imagine having another paint color available would cost too much, but given what they charge for reaching for a different color spool of thread....

Ordering a GT4 seems to be an exercise in option Whac-a-Mole. LWBs, no LWBs, no PTS, PTS, Sapphire/Carmine/Carrara available, then blocked, then available again, yellow 12 o'clock marking and Li-ion battery available all of a sudden, now no silver wing supports. Quite a lot of churn for a car with such limited availability....

 

I went onto the Can/Configurator and noticed something quirkey as well.. Can't put my finger on it but it seems like some of the options aren't going to be there much longer...

 

I think we may be seeing production winding down and they are using up what's left in the supply chain.

Silver here. Just hit the dealership yesterday. Looks really nice with silver wheels, sapphire paint, and platinum int trim.

 

have silver on RY with silver wheels,like them a lot! carl

 

had to change to RY with black supports and silver wheels.....

but i do have black nipples to go with the black supports....... lol

 

This is BS for the kind of money people pay for these things.

Sorry i am still bitter about not being able to option the car how i wanted... with LWB. would have also gotten the 12 o'clock mark on the steering wheel

I let Porsche know about it also.

I am an operations guy for consumer products businesses and medical device businesses and i cant tell customers, sorry we ran out of this screw so i used this other one... i am winding down... cmon.

 

Maybe we'll get lucky and a few million Chinese will cancel their orders.....

 

The 12 o'clock mark can be fixed with $4 1/2" tape from Amazon. There was a thread about it somewhere 👍

 

BTW - I had the option to get the stripe, but I would have had to get yellow stitching, which was a no-go for me. Is the option totally off the table now?

I have one in the RS, but it's wearing off and looks dingy.
