Seems the market isn't as robust as some seem to think. . .

Looks like the car won't get to my insane reserve price, I guess I'm stuck with the car. I knew that I should have vacuumed the driver's side carpet and put the clear LED side markers on.

yes since I want the car I posted multiple bids... er... I meant, yeah, if someone wants the car they would post multiple bids...that's how eBay bidding works...ahem

This definitely casts a lot of doubt on the legitimacy of another ebay bidding record. hahaha. If your car with LWB could only get this far, I cannot grasp why his car without it could get to 35k+ over...

All dealer out there should paid attention to this ebay listing and understand the market is not as hot as one thinks that people are willing to fork 20+ premium left and right.

And aren't you glad that it did not sell! I will be for sure hoping the ebay bidding does not work out, if I were you. But thanks for doing it to test out the market.

I'm sure this thread was picked up by certain serious GT4 buyers so that's why the price didn't go higher. I honestly didn't want the car to sell, for me it's about experiences not money. Here's a new yellow listing out in Vegas...

Martin,
That one is down the street from me actually.
The dealer is less than stellar to be honest.

That eBay listing needs some proofreading. Absolute verbal diarrhea.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha.....do you really think dealers will listen to your advice? I'll watch for dealer asking prices to drop!? The only thing that will change the landscape is if the cars sit for 60 days on showroom and don't sell but that won't happen regardless of a few results on eBay.

I'm sure not many here would sell their cars unless it's $25k above MSRP since the car is that good. The current pricing is at the low point about 14-20k over MSRP since people feel Porsche will ramp up productions. However, if Porsche ends production this calendar year, the pricing may go even higher.

At a $85k base, it is clearly a gift from Porsche. They can charge a lot more for this car and everyone knows that. If Porsche has posted a MSRP at 120k i'm sure many here would still buy it but, it would not generate any attention from the media nor create many new customers. I predict this is part of Porsche marketing and the next GT4 will have the MSRP much higher making our cars hold value or appreciate over time.

if porsche had base priced this at 120k I think a lot of people would have struggled to justify it to be honest. I for one would rather drive a used GT3 for 120k than a cayman regardless of the fun factor. MSRP on mine was right at 105 so I spent for some "lightweight" options (PCCB, LWB, Li-Ion battery, etc) but if I had to effectively pay 135-140 for same spec no way.

this car is priced where it should be, with options right under or around 100k.

In regards to appreciation that will ONLY happen if they decide that 2017 or 2018 car comes in PDK only or some other thing that makes the 2016MY cars a relic, like the 3.8GT3RS or 4.0RS (GT3 gearbox for me is best gearbox of all time)

as it stands the gt4 still has a regular engine.

Still having questions trickle in...

"I see you no sold the car. I am still interested. I wanted one of these also but used my allocation on the new GT3 RS. I know many believe that these cars would bring huge premiums but what most are asking is just too close to the price of a GT3. There are several hitting the market now and prices will drop closer and closer to sticker as time goes on. Again if you would like I give me a resonable buy it now price I will take into consideration. Cash buyer money wired with in 24 hours of agreeing on a price."

He emailed he before asking what my buy it now price was.
