3. Porsche will require some sort of hands-on training for the pit/engineer crew... at the factory. In Germany.
they do the germany training thing for any team that is new to porsche or anyone running the GT3 cup cars etc. really great of them to show you how to fix broken body panels etc so you don't just cry and quit when the going gets tough.

They said on the WEC coverage on the weekend that Nick Tandy was slated to debut this car at an upcoming VLN race. Not sure which round however.

Will the GT4 have a manual tranny or a sequential tranny?

seeing as it is 2015, it will not be a manual IMO...

But nobody will know for sure until the news release

It'll be interesting if it's a paddle shifter...that might be the tell that the .2GT4 or GT4RS will at least have a PDK/PDK-S option.

Word from Andreas P is that a GT4 PDK street car is indeed coming. No go on a GT4RS however...

Interesting...so it'll be a .2GT4, huh? I'd love if they did a PDK-S like on the GT3 and add another 20-30hp.

I'd love to see Tandy wheeling a GT4 Cup in a series!

He cant be stopped right now. But if hes the hired gun for the debut its likely to ensure that theres a podium in the cars initial outing, not because hes going to be driving in a lower class for the season. Still, its a power move by Porsche and to me, signals that they want to own the class. Sweet.

This is what I heard….rumors on the street...

2016 Buyers will need to commit to a six race national series, full race team support and transportation, 3-4 day travel for each event….roughly $150K buy-in includes the car & entry fees,…however, you will be responsible for travel expenses, team/crew support, tires, etc….most likely its still going to be $10-$15k++ cost per event for the first year of ownership. I would factor in $75-$90K for the first six events, pending no major drama or contact. Don’t forget you will still need to pay for set-up and testing days prior to the first race.

Oh...and it will come with Motorsport Paddles...

Sound like a fun way to burn through $300k in a year.

What will be interesting to see is how much of the competition car will fit onto the street car. Wheels, brakes, aero etc... Same thing we did with the 997 cup and 997 street.
