Metallic vs. Base colours
I was (am?) in the same dilemma.
I finally saw my first GT4 in the flesh today, it was SBM. Wow. The color on the car is beautiful and exotic, but a bit loud. I would imagine stares, pics, questions, etc would be the norm.
My (current) line of reasoning is this: I think the blue pulls on my heart strings a smidge more now, but I could see my interest in the color dwindle over time. I think white is the timeless motorsports color that I like today and would still like in 15 years.
FWIW, my car will be my only/DD. If this were to be my toy, I would go bold.

When I ordered my CR, I did the same thing... initially ordered in white then changed to Peridot. In 4 years I have not grown tired of that color and the car still draws attention now as it did 4 years ago.
Trust your first instinct and go with SBM. It is a beautiful color and enhances the lines of the car much better than any of the darker colors or white.
Either way, its is an awesome car and we're fortunate to be having to make this decision!
