Default Odd Question: Comfort of split spoke wheel

I have noticed while holding the toy wheel that Porsche sent out to us that my middle fingers tend to sit right in the gap of the split spokes at 9 and 3. It's very uncomfortable. Now of course that is a TOY wheel that is smaller than the real thing and not built the same.

Any current owners finding it an issue at all with the REAL deal?

Below you can see Christian Gebhardt of Sport Auto with somewhat of the same issue. I believe on the 918, Macan, and 991.2, there are multi-function buttons in this "gap" so the back of the wheel is closed. Useless threads that waiters start.

I haven't noticed any issues but I tend to hold my hand a little higher in street driving (i.e. above the spokes)

Default Odd Question: Comfort of split spoke wheel

It's to save weight.

On my initial (and, so far, only) drive, I kept expecting to find paddles in that space. The gap didn't bother me though. One thing I was surprised by is just how small the wheel is. Pictures don't do reality justice.

Gap didn't bother me at all. Although noticeable, my fingers did not poke through them.
-I found the steering wheel to be perfect size for my hands. (Only 5'9" - for ref )

I think the steering wheel is my least favorite part of my GT4. The sport wheel on my CS looked better (the metal looked like metal and not like plastic), the rim was thicker, and I liked the slightly larger diameter. The diameter and cheaper looks are a minor gripe, but the thin rim does not feel nearly as good.

I have the same complaints. Rim should be thicker and it feels a little plasticky. I'm good with the diameter I think.

They should have offered a painted option like they have on past models. Love the feel of the wheel though.

Wheel thickness feels the same as the old sport design wheel to me. It might be marginally thicker with it leather wrapped and that could be the discrepancy. The smaller diameter is much nicer as I found the older wheels to be too wide for me in such a small car. Shiny plastic bits are the same as the standard silver trim in standard cars, but I can live with it as it's only annoying if you stare at it when the car is parked. I like the holes at 3 and 9 for lazy in-town driving for two finger turns.

I think the wheel is a little thin, but not really that big of a deal. I can also tell its a bit narrower, which is also not that big of a deal to me--just a little bit more uncomfortable for highway cruising.
