Picked up my white GT4 today
Have maybe 20 miles on it today, but here are my thoughts, and somewhat compared to my 7RS.
Wow, this thing rides like a cadillac. I could literally daily drive it, the PASM shocks have come a long, long way since the 7.1 GT3's. Even in sport mode, it isn't too stiff, especially with my sofa seats. That doesn't mean it's soft, I just mean it's ability to control bumps and give ride quality is fantastic.
No redline yet, but after a couple hundred miles, it will be banged off the limiter, this whole 2000 mile break-in is hog-wash. Exhaust note is great, I love the crackle and pop on downshift and off-throttle.
Steering is good, obviously not quite as feelsome as a non-electric 997 GT3, but change in direction is great.
Tranny is sublime, a real pleasure rowing gears. Has a nice mechanical snick to it, and ergonomically is better than the GT3's.
I honestly don't think the front lip is too low. My E92 M3 isn't much higher, so I have no problem driving around town in it, just use angle and you will be fine.
Clutch feels just slightly lighter than my 7.1RS when new. As most know, 997 GT3 clutches get MUCH stiffer as they get old, and the finger on the pressure plate heat cyle. New the peddle pressure is alot less, so new to new, it's pretty comparable. Heal-toe is very good, and the engine still revs quick enough. I do miss the rattling of a single mass flywheel though.....
I'll post another thread about what we learned regarding 19" wheel fitment, and the issues associated with that.
Here's a pic next to my recently completed 987.1 track car.

Congrats !!! I was wondering if you could take side by side pics of the gt4 and m3 front ends as I'm worried about getting into my driveway and my friend has an m3 and had no problem getting up the apron

Interesting, so the exhaust does that backfire pop when you lift off throttle? I thought I read an article where AP said that wasn't in the GT4's software since it wasn't a functional trait, though it wouldn't be the first thing an article got wrong about this car.
For ride height, definitely interested in your impressions since I have an E92 M3 and this is on my mind. I know the GT4 isn't much lower especially compared to the height of the M3's front undertray, but I think the issue is that on the GT4, the lowest point of the car is at the very front of the car, much farther forward of the wheels than on the M3, so while ride height may not change much, approach angle could still change significantly. I can't find the E9x M3's approach angle stat though.

I love hearing impressions from 7.1 GT3 owners. All good signs.
Is your track car Cobalt blue? It looks similar to Sapphire which I never realized. I also have a white w/platinum spec - she looks beautiful, I can't wait.

Me too, I finally saw a GT4 in the flesh today and the rear tire fitment is very flush with the rear fender. It sure looks like getting anything wider may require rolling the fender. I hope not but it sure looks flush already. In fact I think it already stick out a bit passed the rear fenders.
