Pics and first impressions of my CWM GT4

[B].....
5. The exhaust note is very nice. Its pretty amazing how much louder the exhaust is when the window is open and you punch it. Close the window and the interior noise from the exhaust is pretty low when cruising.
.....
9. I continue to opinion the ride is plenty comfortable enough. With PASM activated to the stiffer setting, the car seems to have firmer rebound along with being stiffer. I would not want PASM on stiff just for cruising around. The chassis feels very stiff.

On the roads I drove during my ED, which included a lot of country roads, I agree with most of your PASM comment, but I did not find it too objectionable to leave it activated: and I have the LWBs in mine.
I only had a loaner motorcycle helmet to test this and while it did push my head forward, not objectionable at that time, I have to reserve final judgement til I sit in it again with my "SA" helmet.

These are the first shots that have me even remotely considering switching from DBM to something else, in this case CWM since between the two whites I prefer a metallic finish and a bluish hue. I'll probably stick with DBM since I want to keep the car a bit understated and want a color less commonly seen on the road -- plus switching to a white exterior would likely prove expensive since it would probably cause me to add red deviated stitching, red belts, and carbon fiber trim.... But congrats OP and great photos!

The only reason I didn't go with CWM instaed of the plain white, are the issues that come with matching metallic paints .... I know for experience and it's a nightmare as my other Porsche is a metallic paint
Now, if the car was in a bubble ... No doubt I would venture there but for once I didn't want to sweat the issue of paint matching if something were to happen down the road
But they do look beautiful
I saw a Liquid Silver 918 that blew my socks off ( it should! That was a 65K paint upgrade) but when you have that much money, I guess you can just buy another

Matching metallics is definitely aggravating, but I'm lucky to live near an absolutely outstanding paint and body shop (Berli's for those of you in Central TX) and I don't think I'd ever deign to try to touch up my own paint, so that aspect of it isn't an issue for me personally.

Thanks for all the compliments!! This car looks great in every color!
It's likely the way I sit and I notice it more on long drives when I change position and eventually kind of sink into the seat. It's not as bad as it may have seemed from the way I initially described the situation. Seats are an individual comfort issue and overall, I am pleased with my seat choice.
Thanks, and me too in regards to the second comment!!
I noticed the slight drone when I drove home from the dealer. I have either quickly gotten used to it or it has gone away. I'll pay more attention during my next drive. I think most of my "cruising" has been in the 3,000-4,000 RPM zone. At 2,000-2,500 rpm, I would just consider the drone as an indication that it is time to downshift!
Good to know. Thanks! I assume there is a lot of info on the 991 GT3 forum.
For the headrests, am I correctly reading into your comments that you actually rest your head on the headrest? I've never done that for any meningful length of time in my car, and when I noticed how odd that seemed, I looked around at nearby drivers and they didn't either. In that case I doubt headrest angle will be an issue for me, but since I'm ordering LWBs that are even more aggressively tilted, I'm still wondering how they'll influence my head angle when I've got a helmet. The jury seems to be divided on that.
One thing I found while driving mine in Germany that there was "drone" between 2k - 2.5k RPM.
On the roads I drove during my ED, which included a lot of country roads, I agree with most of your PASM comment, but I did not find it too objectionable to leave it activated: and I have the LWBs in mine.

Picked up on Saturday. For me there is hardly any drone with PSE off, you're not meant to drive under 2,500rpm, IMHO. With PSE on there is some drone... Not a lot, but the sound is not that much better either. Just some crackle and pops on lifting. That said, I do notice the sound getting better as I drive it more, perhaps it's perception bias, but it feels/sounds better now with 400 miles on it (yeah, very comfy car so it took no time to pile miles on).

Did a few more miles. Now have 620 miles. I pushed the car harder.
1. The ECU likely influences flow to the central radiator. When driving the car hard, the coolant temperature decreased to 185. This was WITHOUT Sport button depressed. That is great news for those that want to self blip on the track. No worries, the car will optimize cooling without the Sport button pressed. The car just automatically increases cooling capabilities if you press the button, no matter how hard you drive.
2. I am finding the head position to be fine with the 18 ways. I prematurely complained that the seat was pushing my head forward. I think my complaint had more to do with my seated posture at that time.
3. Gearing. Car speed in second gear is 46 mph at 4600 rpm, 50-51mph at 5,000 rpm. Pushing the car, it really seems to come alive above 5500 rpm. I hate to beat a dead horse, but lower gearing would likely help on the track. 45 mph hairpins are going to expose this, especially if going uphill. I'll live with it as this is not my primary track car and I am confident it will still perform very well on the track. There are always ways to improve any car for the track, and early feedback for the GT4 points to gearing, improving understeer, and decreasing front outside tire wear. I'm probably not going to do much to the car except adjust sways unless tire wear is just unacceptable.
4. Fun factor is high! I can't wait to really drive it hard! The manual gearbox is splendid!
5. Engine seems to operate best above 5500 rpm, maybe even above 5700 but I have not played much above that for very long.
6. Pedal placement is perfect for self blipping when driving the car moderately hard or harder.
