At this point i told him to write the damn ticket quickly and to let me go on my way. He apologized and said he was just doing his job.

Luckily i cooled off by the time i entered the cath lab.

No one is above the law the way it is written, if most cops let you off then you're getting a freebie every time, it's too bad they are setting your expectation for every cop letting you off. By the letter of the law (where I live anyway) you could have been in handcuffs going over 90mph.

Doctor is a job, cop is a job, everyone is just doing their job. Them doing their job doesn't mean they are disrespecting you just like your speeding doesn't mean you're disrespecting them.

I totally understand that. I was breaking the law but this was a legitimate emergency situation that most LEO's tend to forgive in light of the events that are transpiring.

Put yourself in that patient's situation...

This stop occured at 2am mind you. No other cars out there but me. He also made me "EXIT" the highway which only further delayed me.

I logged a formal complaint with the Police Department.

I got a ticket for 10 over on I-71 late one night near Mansfield, OH. Absolutely no traffic. The patrolman writing the ticket told me I wasn't a danger to anyone as no one was near me. However, the local municipality was pressuring them for revenue tickets. He apologized as he handed me the ticket and told me to be aware of the limit on my way back through the area. Couldn't be mad at the patrolman.

The type where you're breaking the law? I speed wiu the best of them, but let's not pretend that one person is allowed to speed more than another based on how the law is written.

Even if he wanted to look the other way, how many folks are making up excuses for why they need to speed? How is he supposed to know if you're being honest vs others.

@vantage your friends have good taste. I have many times wanted to buy an Exige but been scared off by the potential clamshell replacement costs, difficulty to find insurance, and invisibility properties.

I still love them despite all of that.
