Default Silver wheels

Not my cup of tea, but if anyone else digs it, here is a real life pic of silver wheels on a lava orange 911 GTS.

Do silver wheels always come with silver lugs? The GT4 3D configurator shows black lugs with silver wheels, which I definitely prefer as well. I guess replacement lugs wouldn't be terribly expensive though.

Yeah I agree silver wheels aren't the best look with a very bright, loud color like Lava Orange. I'm getting them on my DBM build though. Platinum just isn't enough contrast for me, and although I think black looks cool for a track car and if I were buying dedicated track wheels they would likely be black, it's not what I want for a car that will also see DD use.

I think the Silver wheels look pretty nice - that is what I ordered.

^This. To each his/her own but to me, the dark wheels look dirty and the black wheels look trendy. Silver wheels looked great 30 years ago and will look great in 3 months, 3 years and 3 decades.

But it's your $... buy what you like.

And thanks to the OP for posting this picture. I love Gulf Orange, I'm not crazy about Lava.

Would love to! I'm picking up in Stuttgart in late Sept, driving around Europe til mid-late October and then it sits on a boat for awhile. So, should be in Denver just in time for the snow

But actually, I've had plenty of nice days at the track in the Winter (and the track is open on the weekends at reduced rates for full-day). So, I am in!

When is yours coming?

Looks terrible on Lava Orange... Looks like a VW Beetle in that pic with that combo.

With a bright color like that, owner should have went aggressive, black or plat IMO. Silver wheels much better for DBM or black or SB, etc.

The more I see lava Orange the more I dislike this color. Looks salmon too me. It's ok indoors under fluorescent lighting but outdoors it's not flattering at all. Silver wheels just seem to fit on a classic looking car more than an aggressive one like the gt4. To each his own though.

Agree.

I understand some feel silver is classic and will withstand the test of time, but being classic doesn't mean it looks good with every color. For example, Racing Yellow looks better with black wheels and platinum.

Not a single one of these GT4 spots in Europe has silver wheels, and there are a lot of pics in there:

Just my opinion of course!

White, silver uprights and silver wheels is what I spec'd. Simple and classic.

I love the silver wheels on the white boxster spyder.

The nice thing about wheel and wing upright color is that they're easily changed, should one decide that they would rather have another of the options (or something not offered).

Oh, that is so cool! Mine freezes today and is currently still showing Nov 3rd delivery, but my SA is not sure if that 10 week LWB delay could still impact the timeline. So, HOPEFULLY in early Nov.

I agree, we get some great days even in winter. PM me if you want to hit up HPR in the meantime. I like attending the Thursday night events out there.
