Least useless useless option?

I respectfully disagree, even for track rats. First, the camera adds practically zero weight, certainly less than many of the leather options that can be piled onto this car. Second, it's arguably even more useful on this car with its spoiler than on non-GT cars. And third, even at the track, if you have a roll cage or even a harness bar behind you, rear visibility will be further compromised, and if you're also using a HANS, you wouldn't be able to turn your head even if you could get a decent view out of the rear.

I hate to say it but I will be on of the higher option GT4's, currently at $102K and looking to add the alcantara sunvisor and painted spary nozzle.
I did opt for PCM as I like seeing the map as I drive as well. I got sports chrono as I did not like how the dash looked without it. I did not get the PCCB's as I will be tracking the car so was worried about replacement cost.
I do wish there was a reversing camera and no sensors either. I take them for granted in my other cars, will need to go back old school with this one.

Again, I see your point. I too want to keep the car minimal. Actually, I have 0 comfort thingies at the moment (besides leather, and that too cause I love alcantara). I had some left over budget cause I went from PCCB to steel, so was debating between the 2 marginally useful options and I will still probably decide to get neither but wanted to make an informed decision regarding what each really gives.
I am not getting even those two.

And before we get too side tracked here, my question was not what the ideal configuration for GT4 is or if there is even one. Just want to know what exactly those two specific options options get you.

I think I may have one of the highest optioned cars around. ~114k or so
-PTS (voodoo blue) /black wheels
-LWB
-deviated leather with yellow
-brushed dark aluminum
-steering wheel stripe/yellow belts
-PCCB
-sport chrono
-CD-R +
And a few other minor options.
I optioned my car how I would want it. I keep thinking It's still a helluva bargain when compared to a 911.

Very valid point, I was just curious if you need sport chrono for the in car display. Anyone?

I think dual-zone climate has been accurately discussed here, and elsewhere. As for CDR+, your original post suggests that you have a solid grasp on what it offers. PCM is the exact same head unit except it adds the map software (the Navi and Map buttons are non-functional with CDR+, which may bug some people) and on this particular car it subtracts SiriusXM and HD Radio, thus dodging the roof wart.

I don't believe Sport Chrono is required to see the Performance displays such as horsepower/torque and G-forces. The configurator description supports my guess.

If I were you I would get the car the way YOU want it....
Your spending 90K (with tax and CA rip off reg), you are looking at 100K !
Get the car they way you want it
I got like 10K in options. I keep my cars a long, long time..
My iPhone is better than the Nav unit in the car...
but I am spending all this and not getting all the connectivity that PCM offers, to me that is crazy! I know the stereo in these cars a not the greatest but this is not a track dedicated car for me. I at least want a decent stereo..
As for the sports chrono, I bought that solely based on looks ( call that a stupid emotional buy) but I like the way it looks.
Again, I am spending over 100K on a car, I want to get it the way I want it.
In the end, you have to get what is going to make you happy, once you get the car ... and not seconding guessing,... why didn't I get this and that?
What some think is foolish, to others it's a must have....
You should get what you think is important, not what we think
Good luck

Sports chrono is the MOST useless. It came with my GT3. I've used it once in 4 years. Don't waste your money.
PCM i use all the time. i like to explore back roads and I like the display integrated into the car. But that's me.

Nothing dates a car faster than built-in GPS.
I have never had a car that had GPS built in and I was hoping the GT4 would be the first. When I sat in a dealer's 911/Cayman and played with the GPS I realized how clunky and obsolete the GPS was. It reminded me of a 10+ year old unit. I'll stick with my iphone that attaches and removes quickly with a magnetic mount. The $ I save I can buy a state of the art display/head unit but I probably won't even do that.
And for the folks that spent the $ on the Clock on the dash.. I mean Sports Chrono-- you must be in a different financial situation in life than me.

I have both Sports Chrono and PCM optioned, but would feel in the GT4, the PCM is the better option to have. Yes, the Sports Chrono is overpriced for what you are getting, but I always love some kind of analog time piece in my cars.

All that said, my wife travels a lot for work and recently bought a Kenu Airframe and Scosche USBC242M charger on my recommendation for when she's in rental cars that don't have navigation. She loves that setup since both of those gadgets are very compact and very high quality (Airframe grips well, charger supplies 12W simultaneously to two outlets), but even she isn't sure she'd want that setup on her personal car.
I suppose if the dated look gets really annoying, one could always purchase the double-DIN adapter from Suncoast and install a then-modern aftermarket head unit, though I still haven't confirmed that you wouldn't lose access to any car configuration menus by doing so. I know there's an instrument cluster interface independent of PCM for configuring settings, but there are also configurable settings in PCM. I just don't know yet if there are any settings that both affect aspects of the car outside of PCM itself and are not also configurable from the instrument cluster.

(And yes, first world problems.)
