I am browsing thru the owners manual. I came across this paragraph. It appears to indicate that along with the clock and app time the Sports Chrono option also includes Dynamic Engine Mounts (PADM)
If you would like a PDF copy of the US spec owners, PM me.
Porsche copies a lot of material from one document to another. For example, the Cayman GTS spec sheet stated that the car had rear multi-link suspension. Clearly wrong but probably borrowed from 911 GTS spec sheet.
Porsche doesn't make a lot of mistakes, I'm sure, and these contradictions have to be by design IMO. They already have me spending for nav so I'm confident of SPP (now the manual confirms nav or XM is not necessarry for this). How many others are doing this and how many will now spec SC just to to be confident of the engine mounts? Kind of makes that $1700 clock a lot prettier and a little harder to live without for many I'd bet however I'm not biting on this. Yet! I'll be hoping for you guys to sort this out but I hope this doesn't end up like the 100 or so audio threads that still left many confused!
I know the gt4 has dynamic transmission mounts, but I haven't heard mention of the dynamic engine mounts like on gt3.. Are those absent/unnecessary on a mid-engine car?

The Porsche GT4 site ONLY mentions dynamic transmission mounts as does the Cayman GT4 Catalogue PDF (page 22).

Correct. It seems the dynamic mounts are on whatever part of the engine+trans assembly is farthest to the rear of the car (engine on 911, trans on Cayman), presumably because that's where minimizing any pendulum effect delivers the greatest benefit.

I seriously doubt there's a conspiracy within Porsche to provide coordinated disinformation in order to confuse their customers. I have a far easier time believing that there are a lot of people working at Porsche, and that as the design and option packaging strategy for a given car evolve, with Porsche's dizzying level of configuration options, the people who prepare the manuals and configurators might not always get the latest memos or update their materials appropriately. This seems to me a classic case of the right hand not talking to the left and/or information overload, but frankly as long as the factory builds the car as the engineers specified, I'm not too worried. Manuals and configurators can be updated.
I mentioned this in the Sport Chrono thread, but every other available performance option on this car that's optional on other Caymans (LSD, PTV, PASM, auto-blip, PSE) is standard here, with the sole exception of PCCB, which is a whole other story -- so I can't imagine why after making all of that other kit standard they'd choose to make dynamic trans mounts optional.
