This discussion is already going on across multiple threads here (and also in the GT3 section), but basically:

- The LWBs are more comfortable than many expected, even for long-term drives. However, given that the backrest and bolsters can't be adjusted, they can be a risk to order blind (though the bolsters are apparently designed even for people with larger frames).

- Nobody knows the build quantity thus far.

- LWBs will probably improve resale, but of course it depends on the customer. Some people wouldn't take a car that didn't have them, others wouldn't take one that DID have them.

- The sport seats aren't bad by any means, so if you have to choose between getting sport seats or not getting a car, there's definitely a case to be made for the former. There's also a case to be made for the latter, though; some people don't want to buy a $100K car and feel like they compromised, even if it was forced.

IMO resale will be less of an issue as people will be buying the used cars to track, and if you track it the LWB wont be sufficient

Lwb not sufficient for track? It's great for me and I'm a track rat. I can run 6 point harnesses and there is plenty of support. It's more than sufficient for me. Zero desire to get a race seat. Zero desire to buy a gt4 without lwb new or used

Bolsters were not enough for me. Look at it this way, aftermarket seats come in several different sizes, Sparco makes the EVO in 3, one size isn't good enough for everyone, why would the one sized LWB be any different?

Do you have an allocation with LWB? So far I don't... Just regular seats. Not sure if I can pull the trigger on that?

I have to agree with orthojoe here. Your comment is specifically based on your personal preferences. Not that there is something wrong with it, but it shouldn't be applied unilaterally.

Agreed completely depending on your size.

I bought my GT3 with the LWB thinking I'd use them for the track - they are too big for me (I'm 5'8" - 155lbs) - I move around too much.

I put a Recaro with a halo in for the track and swap it out at the end of the weekend - takes 10 min and I prefer the halo seat.

They are "fine" for the street. But, if I had to do it over again, I would have passed on the LWBs in a second.

They are not that great IMO.

They look awesome though

Standard seats (and $5K in my pocket).

I will get a proper track seat when the time comes.

Ditto. The standard sets can be ordered with heating. I know that's sacrilege on this forum, but for my 6 AM Saturday morning drives with the windows down, the heated seats are awesome. I do more of those than track days.

Agreed. However there is nothing personal about the one size to fit all seat situation with the LWB. If you look at the aftermarket seats there is clearly a demand for multiple sized seats. All I am saying is that unless you happen to be just the right size for the LWB, they are not ideal for actual track driving.

I bring it up because I was bought into the LWB hype and nearly passed on a GT3 and waited an additional 5 months for an allocation with them. I went with the early car and 18 ways. When I finally got to sit in a LWB seat, I was surprised at how much room there was for me to slide around and was very glad I didn't wait for them. They are still a great seat but for many people they are going to be a compromise on the track.

Totally agreed on a one size fits all approach necessitating compromise, and it does indeed seem that Porsche erred on the wide side here compared to the GT2 seats to allow these LWBs to fit a broader group of people (no pun intended), which I can totally understand from a business perspective. As a result, of course more svelte people who want a totally tight fit will not be satisfied by the LWBs, but since I don't want to have full-on race seats in my car, I think these will be a nice upgrade in terms of car communication compared to the sofas while still remaining comfortable for casual drives, which race seats typically aren't since you can't shift around and your legs are pressed together. And of course with race seats you don't get airbags, and since I have no intention of fitting a rollbar and harness setup (which I don't believe is even street legal), that would be a point of concern for me.

So yes, everything is a compromise, including the car in general. It just so happens that this car and particularly the LWBs represent the exact compromise between track prowess and daily livability that I'm looking for.

If you don't get LWB seats you deserve stick beatings.

If I could I would. Even if I was planning on replacing them with Sparco's the following day I would still order them and put them in storage until resale.

but it seems I have no choice, and I WANT the car. Which actually increases the chances I will be yanking the seats and replacing anyway.

I just like the way they look and the GT4 logo.
