Forgot to mention Livermore Porsche up in the bay area has a few allocations and they're asking $10-$15k over however if you are a previous customer of theirs they are willing to negotiate that.

They could and will if the factory needs a build turned in, but I would imagine someone that is paying a premium that is paying upwards of 35% over MSRP as is suggested here would want the car exactly the way they want it.

If it doesn't happen for me, I'm looking to the resale market.

Very true, and I think most on this board would agree including myself. But all it takes is one person with money to blow that wants to car right away to walk into the dealer. In Socal, it's not uncommon. I've seen it for multiple cars I've personally been in the market for at all price ranges (Fj cruiser, wrx STI, golf r, m3, gt4, gt3). There are great reasons to live in CA, but buying a limited edition car is definitely not one of them

I told him I don't begrudge anyone from selling at market, but that it doesn't seem right to have people waiting on a list and for the dealership to do it. The "list" is obviously meaningless.
Was that Princeton Porsche?

To provide a couple more data points, I negotiated two Bay Area dealers to 10K over MSRP back in November.

I'll probably still try both at the dealer and see which one my back gets along with better, though.
PCCBs do nothing for resale but you will get your money back on the buckets. It is a great value. Probably the only option you can get that has any value down the road

Probably is Princeton PORSCHE I know a sales guy there and he keeps trying to get me to buy at $20k over.

Buckets are definitely a resale plus and well worth the $5k. Both the GT3 and GT4 had shortages... I have them in my GT3. I probably wouldn't get them for a DD but then I would get a GT car for a DD anyways.

To me GT cars and LWBs go together. It's like the wing

Interesting info, thanks guys. Good to know that it's at least a good value... but I will still have to take comfort into consideration. I have occasional back issues (too young to have disc problems ), so if I can't be confident in being relatively comfortable on long drives to/from the track, I'm gonna have to pass.

... Then again, maybe the seats won't even be available, and the decision will be made for me, heh.

The PCCBs will save your back.... As you won't need to bend over to clean your wheels.

Haha, you jest, but that's a good point... wheels are probably the most back-intensive part of a car wash.

Ya, the only time you have to bend over is when you pay for the PCCB option (and then when you have to replace the pads and rotors down the line).

It only hurts in the wallet area...

FYI for anyone interested -- I got contacted by Porsche of Orlando about an available allocation. I'm out of state. It's probably gone by now, but might be worth it for someone to call and see if it's still available.
