If u have the patience, there will probably be a GT4 RS. But who knows when? And who knows what barriers there will be to getting one of the few they do choose to build? These specials are not casual customer friendly. I have owned Porsches since 1970 and been a PCA member since 1983, and they treat me like I'm an alien when I ask about putting a deposit on a GT4.
Unfortunately there is a layer between you and Porsche ( whoever they are now, but I would say VW - no family owned anymore) which is the dealer. A friend of mine just started with Porsche about 4 years ago, but he bought about 10 cars since then with the same dealer, so you can guess they treat him well. I bought a few from same dealer, but less than him. They treat me well, but I suspect it is because of my friend. We also refer several buyers to them. Sad reality is that if you buy a Maserati from same dealer, you get more points than if you buy 3 Porsches somewhere else. I will be patient - they will call me with a GT4 as they did for a GT3. Part of dealer's job is to say that these cars are nearly impossible to get.
The GT4 does look a little more RS'ish than the GT3 does. It would be awesome to see a wide body GT4RS with the same width, wide back tires, and engine as the RS. Heck, they ought the just do it and call it a 912 or 921 (21st Century).
I agree. The GT4 is already nipping at the heels(if not slightly surpassing) some of the 911 models....I doubt they'll make an RS model as it would probably end up being cheaper than a GT3 while having the same, or slightly less, performance. They'd never do that.
Hook ups? I'm the guy that PMNA got banned from IMSA in 2012 because I was stealing their business. Unless they decide that my Cayman sequential gearbox is the one they want in the Cayman Cup, I've got absolutely zero pull with the Ger-man. Given the history, they would need to wire me a silly amount of money and gave me a Cayman GT4 as a cherry on top to do the deal. And even then I'm not sure I'd do it.
Just happened to put on my Bullet Racing 50th Anniversary Daytona crew t-shirt this morning. We really poked the bear with the livery on that car. It was all downhill from there.
