yes this is important not to have a funny looking car
my frustration is the pccb has to do yellow calipers

i solved that on my gt3 making it guards red body with red accents/belts

but i don't want to do that same combo again on the gt4

i do want the ccbs on the gt4 i just feel the car dances so lightly with the reduced unsprung weight (i know steels are just fine for stopping power)

thinking agate grey or sapphire blue with yellow accents inside - i know i don't want a yellow car, and the yellow calipers and inside accents work better with a darker background/base color...

decisions decisions

I dislike when people choose red stitching with PCCBs and vice versa.
Quote: I think this is spot on, but also satin black wheels look great with sapphire blue. So Satin black wheels + black wing supports to match the black lights is a good option as well. Just avoid mismatched brakes/stitching imo.

I guess I am in the minority, I don't mind the mismatch. I have red stitching and PCCB on my car. You obviously don't see the calipers when inside or much of the red stitching when outside.

I even like the contrast of a yellow caliper a red car.

Anyway, carmine red is what I am thinking. PCCB or not, I don't know, on one hand it is pricey and makes heel-toe harder. On the other hand there is something attractive about massively oversized brakes on something this small.

Quote: So here's the crucial difference. If the car has a manual transmission, like the GT4 or other MT Porsche including the GTS, you get PTV which has torque vectoring and a mechanical limited slip differential.

If the car has PDK/PDK-S like the GT3, you get PTV+ which has the same torque vectoring but a continuously variable electronic differential instead of the mechanical LSD.

The electronic diff requires a hydraulic pump which runs off of the PDK gearbox and is incompatible with Porsche's MT.
Makes sense. Thanks Mike

Quote: Yes it's coming from both sides. However, in addition to the banter it sure seems like anything short of praise for the 991 GT3 is not tolerated by the gaggle. This is stifling the learning dialog.
I'd hate to think anyone, myself included, said something to stifle dialog or had a lack of tolerance. I've read back through the recent posts and, respectfully, can't find anything that falls into that category. For the sake of learning, could you reference exactly what it is you're objecting to?

I'm happy to bash anything that isn't up to snuff on the car. Have I mentioned the track app is total garbage? Don't get it on the GT4!!!

Centerlocks suck big time, and the new brakes are a total pain in the *** when it comes to changing pads.

Big thumbs up to 5 lugs on the GT4

I like bashing when it's done after serious testing. Like you did. Not so much the speculating bashing.

I find my dilemma to be multifold. I was looking at the GTS but saw the GT4 was coming and waited to see what it would be. While going from a 991S to a Cayman is its own "downgrade" in itself, I want a track car. I just see the GT4 being a better track car.r than the 991S. I don't need the luxuries of the 991, but they are nice. I wanted a GT3 built to my specs, but couldn't get one.

The GT4, at this point, looks like it may be the next option down from the GT3 build.

I also am focused on the LWB seats that my dealer has been trying to talk me out of.

At the end of the day, I'm number 1 or 2 at my dealer for the GT4.

Why on earth is your dealer trying to talk you out of them? Don't listen to him! LOL

Yup, dealers are known for that line, suggestion. They are always thinking of receiving it back as a trade and then having to resell it. There will always be an excuse to dock value.

I think you'll enjoy the LWBs - I was looking at a GTS as a potential DD in stick, but think the GT4 will be a much better driving experience.

If you've not tried the LWBs you can try mine or someone else might have some close. I'm in Westchester NY, might be able to meet halfway before your build locks if some of the salt is cleared by rain/snow melt.

he totally missed my point! I want the LWB seats!

My problem is I'm torn between Saphire Blue, Racing Yellow, and Dark Blue Mettalic. All would be with the PCCB brakes.
